Manage App Location Permissions auf OnePlus
OxygenOS controls GPS access separately for every installed app instead of using one global switch. This matters because a navigation app needs constant access while a shopping app might only need it once during checkout.
Each app on your OnePlus falls into one of three location categories. Allow all the time keeps GPS active even when the app runs in the background, which is useful for fitness trackers but can drain the battery faster. Allow only while using the app limits access to moments when the app is actually open on screen. Deny blocks GPS completely, which stops location-based features from working but also stops any background tracking.
Where to change it
Go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Location ➔ Tap on App permissions ➔ Choose an app. From there, pick Allow all the time, Allow only while using the app, or Deny depending on how much access that specific app should have.
If an app misbehaves after a permission change, for example a map refusing to load your position, check whether it was set to Deny by mistake. If battery drops fast after installing a new app, switching it from Allow all the time to Allow only while using the app usually solves it without breaking core functions.
