Merge Duplicate Contacts auf OnePlus
Duplicate contacts usually appear on OnePlus phones after syncing WhatsApp, Telegram, or another messenger with your existing address book. Each app that gets permission to read contacts can create a new entry instead of updating the one already saved, especially when a phone number is stored in a slightly different format.
The Contacts app on OnePlus includes a built-in merge function that combines two entries into one, keeping phone numbers, emails, and photos from both. This avoids deleting one contact by hand and risking the loss of details that only exist on that entry.
To merge two duplicates, go to Open the Contacts app and tap and hold the contact you want to check. Choose Select the duplicated contact to mark both matching entries, then open Open the menu and tap Tap on Merge.
After merging, the app keeps a single contact card with the combined information. If the same name shows up more than twice, repeat the process for each remaining duplicate.
Merging works best when both entries clearly belong to the same person. If names differ or you are unsure, compare the phone numbers first instead of merging right away, since a completed merge cannot easily be split apart again.
