Call History Name Format Setting auf OnePlus
Call history entries on OnePlus phones pull directly from your contact list, but the display order (first name or last name first) is controlled separately in the Phone app settings. This means the same contact can appear differently in your call log than expected, even though nothing was changed in the Contacts app itself.
This setting matters most if you save contacts with last name first (common for business or professional contacts) but want a consistent first-name view when scanning recent calls. It also helps if you are used to a different display convention and find the current order hard to scan quickly.
To change it, open Open the Phone app ➔ Open the menu ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Display options ➔ Tap on Name format ➔ Choose First name first or Last name first.
The change applies immediately to the entire call log and does not require a restart. It only affects how names are rendered on screen; the underlying contact data stays untouched.
If names still look wrong after adjusting this, check whether the contact itself was saved with the name fields swapped in the Contacts app. That is a separate issue from the display format covered here.
