Enable or Disable Nearby Places in the Phone App auf OnePlus
The OnePlus Phone app can search two sources at once: your saved contacts and nearby places or locations pulled from location data. This is the Nearby places feature, and it only works if the app has permission to use your device location in the background.
Once enabled, search results in the dialer show businesses and points of interest alongside your contacts, and you can call any of them directly after tapping a result. This is useful for quickly finding a nearby restaurant or shop number, but it also means the Phone app keeps requesting your location, which can affect battery life and clutters simple contact searches.
To change this setting, go to Open the Phone app ➔ Open the menu ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Nearby places ➔ Enable or disable Nearby places.
If your main issue is unrelated location tracking rather than search results, check the general app permissions instead, since disabling Nearby places only removes it from the dialer, not from other apps that use location.
