Power Button for Quick SOS auf OnePlus
Quick SOS on OnePlus phones lets you trigger an emergency call by pressing the power button several times in fast succession, without unlocking the screen first. The feature sits inside the security settings and works independently from the lock screen emergency call button.
Some users notice the call starts unexpectedly while the phone sits in a pocket or bag, because the button presses happen accidentally. Others want to enable it deliberately as a safety shortcut, for example for older family members or when hiking alone.
To check or change the setting, open Settings ➔ Security & lock screen ➔ Emergency rescue ➔ Power button for quick SOS. Here you choose between Quickly press the power button for 3 or 5 times for SOS or Disable.
Picking three presses reacts faster but raises the risk of accidental calls. Five presses needs a longer, more deliberate motion and cuts down on false triggers, while still keeping the shortcut fast enough for a real emergency.
If you rely on other emergency tools, such as a lock screen emergency call button or a third-party safety app, disabling quick SOS here avoids duplicate or conflicting alerts. The setting only affects the power button gesture and does not change how the regular emergency dialer works from the lock screen.
