Remove a Fingerprint auf OnePlus
A fingerprint scan that fails repeatedly on a OnePlus device usually points to a single damaged or outdated entry among the stored IDs. Oxygenos allows up to five fingerprints per device, and a worn or misread one can slow down unlocking even when the other fingerprints work fine.
Removing a single fingerprint does not affect the others. Only deleting the last remaining fingerprint switches off fingerprint unlock as a screen-lock method and disables fingerprint payment confirmation, since the system then has no biometric data left to compare against.
Menu path to delete a fingerprint
Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Security & lock screen ➔ Tap on Fingerprint Unlock ➔ Enter the current pattern, PIN or password ➔ Tap on Delete ➔ Confirm with Delete
You need the device pattern, PIN or password to open the fingerprint menu, since biometric settings are locked behind the primary credential for security reasons. If you plan to re-register a cleaner scan afterward, remove only the faulty fingerprint and leave the working ones untouched.
