Send an MMS with Photos or Videos auf OnePlus
An MMS message differs from a standard SMS because it carries file attachments such as photos, videos or audio clips instead of plain text only. On a OnePlus phone, the Messages app switches a conversation to MMS mode automatically the moment a file is added, so there is no separate setting to turn on beforehand.
To send one: Open the Messages app ➤ Choose a conversation or tap on New message ➤ Choose a contact or type a phone number ➤ Type in a message ➤ Tap on Add attachment ➤ Swipe left or right to browse the files ➤ Tap on Gallery or choose a file ➤ Tap on Send.
The attachment gets compressed automatically before sending, which keeps the file within carrier limits but can lower photo or video quality. If the message does not arrive, mobile data or the carrier's MMS settings are the usual reason, since MMS always travels over the mobile network even if calls still work fine.
Wi-Fi does not help here, because MMS delivery requires an active mobile data connection regardless of signal strength. Group conversations with several attachments also take longer to send and are more likely to fail on a weak connection.
