Switch Automatically Between Wi-Fi and Mobile Data auf OnePlus
OnePlus phones do not automatically leave a weak or fluctuating Wi-Fi network unless you turn on a dedicated feature called Intelligent network connection. Without it, the phone stays attached to the known Wi-Fi network even when the signal is too weak to load pages or hold a call, and mobile data sits unused in the background.
Enabling this option tells the system to monitor your Wi-Fi connection quality and switch over to mobile data automatically when Wi-Fi becomes unreliable. This is useful in situations like a router placed far from your room, public Wi-Fi with unstable throughput, or moving around a large building where signal strength varies by room.
Where to find the setting
Go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Wi-Fi & network ➔ Tap on Dual-channel network acceleration ➔ Enable or disable Intelligent network connection. Toggling this on lets the phone switch to mobile data during poor Wi-Fi periods; toggling it off keeps you locked to Wi-Fi regardless of quality.
When to leave it disabled
If you have a limited mobile data plan, keep this feature off so the phone does not silently consume data allowance while still connected to a technically working Wi-Fi network. Also disable it while downloading large files over Wi-Fi to avoid an unexpected switch mid-transfer.
Side effect to expect: while the feature is active, some apps may briefly show a mobile data icon instead of the Wi-Fi icon even though you are still near your router, since the switch is based on connection stability, not just signal bars.
