OnePlus: Adjust TalkBack Feedback for Inputs

If TalkBack stays silent on some taps or buzzes too loudly during a call, the vibration, sound and audio ducking options are likely not tuned to your needs. OnePlus lets you fine-tune each feedback channel separately, including how much other audio gets muted while TalkBack speaks. Getting these settings wrong can make TalkBack hard to notice or disruptive during media playback.

TalkBack Feedback Settings for Inputs auf OnePlus

TalkBack confirms every input with a vibration pulse and a sound cue. On OnePlus phones both channels are controlled separately, so one can be muted while the other stays active without any warning that something changed.

Audio ducking is the setting responsible for lowering other sound sources, like music or a podcast, while TalkBack speaks. If ducking is off, TalkBack announcements compete with playback audio and become hard to understand. If it is on but the ducking level is too aggressive, background audio can drop out completely for a moment on every input.

The sound feedback volume is a separate slider from the general media volume. Turning up media volume alone does not make TalkBack louder if this slider is set low.

Adjust all of this here:

Open the SettingsTap on SystemTap on AccessibilityTap on TalkBackOpen the SettingsEnable or disable Vibration / Sound feedback and Audio ducking or set the Sound feedback volume.

If TalkBack feels unreliable across the whole phone rather than just too quiet or too loud, check whether TalkBack itself is fully enabled before changing these feedback details.

This happens when sound feedback is disabled while vibration feedback stays on. Check both toggles separately under Open the SettingsTap on SystemTap on AccessibilityTap on TalkBackOpen the Settings.
