Change TalkBack Speech Rate and Pitch auf OnePlus
TalkBack announces every tap, notification, and screen change on your OnePlus phone through synthesized speech. The default speech rate and pitch are set for general use, which can feel too slow for experienced users or too fast for people who are still learning the gestures.
Where the speech settings live
Both sliders sit inside the TalkBack accessibility settings, separate from the general phone language settings. Open Settings ➔ System ➔ Accessibility ➔ TalkBack ➔ Settings ➔ Text to speech settings. From there you can set the Language or drag the sliders to adjust Speech rate or Pitch.
Increasing the speech rate makes TalkBack read faster, which helps once you know the interface well and no longer need every word spelled out slowly. Lowering it gives more time to process each announcement, useful when learning new apps or complex menus.
Pitch works independently from rate. Raising or lowering it does not change reading speed, only the tone of the synthesized voice, which some users rely on to distinguish system announcements from app content.
Changes apply immediately, so you can test the new rate before leaving the settings screen. If TalkBack still sounds unclear, check the Text to speech engine and language pack instead, since a missing voice pack causes distortion regardless of rate or pitch.
