Set When Screensaver Starts auf OnePlus
The screensaver on OnePlus phones is not just a leftover Android feature. It only activates when a specific trigger condition is met, and that condition is what most users overlook when the screensaver seems to behave unpredictably.
By default, OxygenOS ties the screensaver to power states: charging, docking, or both. If you rarely dock your phone and only charge it occasionally, the screensaver may appear to trigger randomly or not at all, simply because it is waiting for one of those conditions to be true.
To change the trigger, open Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Display ➔ Tap on Screen saver ➔ Tap on When to start ➔ Choose an option. Available choices are While charging, While docked, While charging or docked, and Never.
Selecting Never does not just delay the screensaver, it disables the feature completely, including any clock or photo overlay that would otherwise show while the phone sits idle.
If you use the screensaver as a bedside clock, While charging is usually the safest pick, since most phones charge overnight regardless of whether a dock is used.
