Pair a Bluetooth Device
Turning on Bluetooth on your Oppo phone does not automatically connect it to headphones, speakers, or another phone. If your Oppo phone cannot find the other device or the pairing request never appears, the two devices are simply not linked yet.
Block or Unblock a Contact
If a contact keeps calling or texting you and you want it to stop, blocking them cuts off calls and messages without deleting the contact. Turn Power Saving Mode On or Off
If your Oppo phone suddenly dims the screen, cuts the screen timeout to 15 seconds, and stops apps from syncing in the background, Power saving mode is active. Turn Off Screen Lock
If entering a PIN or pattern every time you check your phone feels unnecessary, you can remove the lock screen password on your Oppo phone entirely. The option sits under Password & biometrics and needs your current unlock code to confirm the change. Once disabled, the screen no longer asks for a code and unlocks with a simple swipe.
Turn On/Off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Scanning for Location Accuracy
If your Oppo phone shows your location several streets away, or apps take forever to pin you down in a city, the culprit is often disabled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning. Set a Monthly Mobile Data Limit
If your Oppo phone keeps burning through your data plan before the billing cycle ends, you are probably missing a cap on mobile data usage. Without a monthly limit set, ColorOS keeps mobile data active even after you cross your contract volume, leading to extra charges. Setting a fixed limit lets the system cut mobile data automatically once you hit that number.
Camera Shutter Sound: Turn On or Off
Every time you tap the shutter button, the Oppo camera app plays an audible click to confirm the photo was taken. In quiet places like meetings, museums or theaters that sound can feel disruptive or draw unwanted attention. This toggle sits inside the camera app itself and works independently from your phone's ringer or notification volume.
Set Default Keyboard
Installed a new keyboard app but Oppo keeps opening Gboard whenever you tap a text field? Activating a keyboard alone does not make it the one your phone actually uses. Until you set it as default, typing still falls back to whichever keyboard was active before.
Turn Camera Watermark On/Off
If every photo or video from the camera app carries an unwanted overlay with the phone model, date, time, or location, ColorOS added that watermark automatically. On some Oppo phones the setting stays active after a reset or software update. It only affects the built-in Camera app, not third-party apps or the gallery.
Remove an Account
If an old account still shows up under Users & accounts on your Oppo phone even after signing out, it was only logged out, not removed. Removing the account deletes its local data and sync settings from the device, but the account and any data stored in its cloud stay untouched.
Limit Connected Devices on Personal Hotspot
By default, an Oppo hotspot accepts up to ten devices at once, which slows down shared data or blocks a new phone or laptop from joining once that cap is reached. If your household needs fewer simultaneous connections for better speed, or more room for extra devices, the ten-device default is not fixed. You can raise or lower it directly in the hotspot settings.
Pin a Conversation to the Top
If an important SMS thread keeps getting buried under newer messages, the Messages app on Oppo phones is sorting everything by latest activity only. There is no default setting that keeps one contact permanently visible. Pinning changes that behavior so the conversation stays first no matter what arrives afterward.
Delete Face Unlock Data
If you no longer want face recognition to unlock your Oppo phone, the stored face scan needs to be removed manually from the security settings. This step requires your screen lock password or PIN, and skipping it means the phone keeps trying to match your face every time the display wakes up. Some users also notice slower unlock attempts or repeated fallback to PIN entry when an outdated face profile is still active.
