Icons can only move within that fixed order until you turn the feature off.
Turn Next-word Suggestions On or Off
If Gboard keeps guessing the wrong next word or the suggestion bar feels like it slows down typing instead of speeding it up, the Next-word suggestions feature is behind it. It predicts your next word from what you typed before, and a quick tap on the space bar inserts that guess automatically.
Copy Text From an SMS Message
Copying text from a text message on Oppo often fails because a short tap only opens the reply field or the keyboard instead of a selection menu. This makes it hard to grab a confirmation code, tracking number, or address to paste into another app.
Change Video Resolution
Not every Oppo phone records the same video quality out of the box, and the default setting often stays on HD or FullHD even when your device supports more. If your clips look softer than expected or take up more storage than planned, the resolution picked in the camera app is usually the reason.
Adjust Display Size
If app icons, images, or entire menus look too small or too large on your Oppo phone, adjusting the font size alone will not fix it. Coloros scans for nearby networks automatically once Wi-Fi is switched on, but tapping the wrong network name or mistyping the password stops the connection right before it finishes.
Auto Brighten Screen for Face Unlock
If Face Unlock keeps failing in a dark room or at night, the front camera likely does not get enough light to map your face. Coloros has an 'Auto brighten screen for face recognition' option meant to fix exactly this, but it is easy to miss and easy to leave switched off by accident.
Turn Call Vibration On or Off
On many Oppo phones, the handset gives a short vibration pulse the moment you pick up or hang up a call, even with the ringer silent. If that buzz feels unnecessary or startles you in quiet settings, it comes from a dedicated toggle in the calling settings, not from your general vibration or Do Not Disturb setup.
App Time Limit Setup
If one app keeps eating up your whole day, Oppo's Digital Wellbeing tools let you cap it with a daily timer. Once the time runs out, Coloros force-closes the app and keeps it locked until midnight. Each app gets its own separate limit, so you can restrict social media while leaving work apps untouched.
Autospace After Punctuation Toggle
Typing fast on your Oppo phone and ending up with double spaces or missing spaces after periods and commas? Gboard's autospace feature inserts a space automatically after punctuation, which can clash with your own typing habits or with pasted text that already has spacing.
Schedule Always-on Display
If your Oppo phone runs the Always-on Display around the clock, it keeps drawing power even while you sleep or leave the phone in a drawer. ColorOS lets you limit the Always-on Display to a fixed time window instead of showing it non-stop. Without a schedule, the clock and notifications stay visible on the lock screen at every hour, day and night.
Change SIM PIN
If you want to swap out a SIM PIN that is too easy to guess or matches an old default code, Oppo phones handle this through a dedicated lock screen for the card itself, separate from your phone unlock code. The catch is that ColorOS will not let you set a new PIN unless you can still enter the current one correctly. If that PIN has been forgotten, this menu will not help and a carrier unlock becomes necessary instead.
Add a New Contact
Saving a new number on your Oppo phone is not always obvious because the Add button in the Contacts app is easy to miss on a crowded contact list. Without a saved entry, incoming calls and texts show up only as a number instead of a name, and details like address or birthday never get stored. ColorOS routes all cellular internet traffic through one single toggle, so a wrong access point can block traffic even when that toggle looks enabled. If Emergency SOS or emergency SMS on your Oppo phone only reaches the default 112 number, no personal emergency contact is stored yet. Without at least one saved contact, alerts and location messages during an SOS trigger won't go out to anyone you know.
Turn Bluetooth Tethering On or Off
If a paired device cannot reach the internet through your Oppo phone, Bluetooth tethering might be switched off or the device connection was never approved. This function shares your mobile data over Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi hotspot or USB, which helps laptops without hotspot support and saves battery compared to Wi-Fi sharing. Each paired device needs the option allowed on its own before data actually flows.
Turn Assisted Dialing (Roaming Assistant) On or Off
Calling contacts while traveling can fail on an Oppo phone because Assisted Dialing quietly inserts a country code you never asked for. This roaming assistant reacts whenever the network detects you outside your home country, even for numbers that would normally dial fine without a prefix. If that auto-added code breaks the call or reaches the wrong number, the fix is to switch the feature off and dial manually.
Turn Notification Badges On or Off Per App
If notification badges do not show up on some app icons on your Oppo home screen, the per-app Badge toggle is likely switched off. ColorOS only displays a small dot instead of a number, and each app has its own switch tucked inside the notification settings.
