Dark or Light Theme for the Phone App
If the Phone app on your Oppo still opens in a bright white interface at night, it can strain your eyes and drain the battery faster than needed. Unlike the rest of ColorOS, the dialer and call screen sometimes keep their own display setting separate from the system-wide dark mode. Switching it manually only takes a few taps.
Turn Assisted Dialing (Roaming Assistant) On or Off
Calling contacts while traveling can fail on an Oppo phone because Assisted Dialing quietly inserts a country code you never asked for. This roaming assistant reacts whenever the network detects you outside your home country, even for numbers that would normally dial fine without a prefix. If that auto-added code breaks the call or reaches the wrong number, the fix is to switch the feature off and dial manually.
Delete Single or Multiple Contacts
If your contact list on your Oppo phone is cluttered with duplicate entries or people you no longer need to reach, removing them one by one gets tedious fast. The Contacts app lets you select several entries at once and send them to the trash in a single action, but the multi-select toggle is easy to miss if you only tap through individual entries. Knowing where that option sits saves you from repeating the same steps over and over.
Set Up a VPN Connection
If your company or university hands you server details instead of a ready-made VPN app, your Oppo phone needs a manual profile entered directly in the system settings. Without the right protocol, server address and login data, the connection fails silently or drops right after you save it. Create a Photo Album

Turn Airplane Mode On or Off
If your Oppo phone will not connect to a network, WLAN, or Bluetooth device, Airplane mode might already be running in the background. Turning it on cuts mobile signal, WLAN, Bluetooth and NFC at once, which is useful on a plane but confusing when it happens by accident. Enable Vibration in Silent Mode

Turn Off TalkBack (Accessibility)
If TalkBack is running on your Oppo phone, a single tap only selects an item and reads it aloud instead of opening it. Every action now needs a confirming second tap, which makes even switching TalkBack off feel out of reach. This select-then-confirm control catches most users off guard exactly when they try to disable the feature.
Allow or Deny Apps to Modify System Settings
If an app suddenly asks for permission to modify system settings, it usually wants to adjust things like your ringtone, brightness, or wallpaper, not your lock screen or passwords. On ColorOS this permission sits deep inside the special app access menu, so most users never find it on their own. Without it, some apps fail silently when they try to change these settings automatically.
Set Alarm Ring Duration
If your Oppo phone's alarm cuts off after just 5 minutes and you keep sleeping through it, the ring duration is still on the default setting. You can stretch it up to 30 minutes or shorten it to as little as 1 minute, depending on how deep a sleeper you are.
Restore Deleted Contacts from Trash Bin
A contact you deleted on your Oppo phone doesn't vanish right away. It sits in a hidden trash bin for 30 days, but only if account sync was switched on at the moment you deleted it. Without sync active beforehand, the entry never reaches that backup and recovery becomes much harder.
Customize Smart Sidebar Quick Access
If your Oppo's Smart Sidebar is packed with tools you never open, or missing the one app shortcut you actually need, the Quick access list needs an edit. Change Ringtone

Open Eyes Requirement for Face Unlock
If Face Unlock keeps rejecting you even though you are staring straight at the screen, the open eyes requirement in ColorOS is often the cause. This check forces the camera to confirm both eyes are visibly open before it accepts a match. Glasses, sleepy eyes, or bad lighting can make this stricter mode fail more often than usual.
Turn Touch Sounds On or Off
If your Oppo phone plays a short click every time you tap the navigation buttons or on-screen keys, the 'Touch sounds' feature is active. Some people find this feedback helpful, others just want a quiet phone without extra clicks on every tap. The setting sits separately from your ringtone and notification sounds, so muting your phone will not remove it.
Pair a Bluetooth Device
Turning on Bluetooth on your Oppo phone does not automatically connect it to headphones, speakers, or another phone. Both devices still need to confirm the connection before any file transfer or audio streaming works. Turn Power Saving Mode On or Off
If your Oppo phone suddenly dims the screen, cuts the screen timeout to 15 seconds, and stops apps from syncing in the background, Power saving mode is active. This mode can switch on by itself at low battery or stay on after you enabled it manually, and it often delays notifications and app updates. Switching it off brings back normal brightness and sync behavior right away.
