Move Widgets on the Home Screen
A widget on your Oppo home screen sometimes ends up on the wrong page or crammed between app icons where it does not belong. A short tap just opens the widget or its app instead of letting you drag it. Knowing how long to hold before moving it keeps the widget from jumping back or landing in the wrong spot.
Turn Mobile Data On or Off
If apps stop loading anything once you leave Wi-Fi range on your Oppo phone, mobile data is probably switched off, or the wrong SIM is set for internet use on a dual-SIM device. ColorOS routes all cellular internet traffic through one single toggle, so a wrong access point can block traffic even when that toggle looks enabled. Turn Super Power Saving Mode On or Off

That trade-off means notifications, widgets, and most third-party apps stop behaving normally until you switch the mode off again.
Turn Do Not Disturb On or Off
If your Oppo phone stays completely silent even for important calls, or if it keeps buzzing when you actually need quiet, Do Not Disturb is likely misconfigured. The mode mutes sound and vibration system-wide and can hide notifications or let selected exceptions through, so getting the toggle and its options right matters. Many users only find the switch by accident because it sits inside the general sound settings rather than its own menu.
Allow or Block App Autostart
If your Oppo phone feels slow right after a restart, too many apps are probably launching in the background automatically. Each app that keeps an autostart permission keeps running silently, draining battery and RAM before you even open it. ColorOS has a dedicated manager for this, but it is easy to miss and even easier to leave misconfigured.
Send an MMS Message
If you attach a photo, video, or contact card to a text message on your Oppo phone, it stops being a plain SMS. The Messages app quietly converts it into an MMS, which can change how it sends, how big it can be, and whether your carrier bills it differently. Not realizing this switch happened is usually why an attachment seems stuck or never arrives.
Turn On/Off Screen-off Gestures
If double-tapping the display or drawing a quick O or V symbol does nothing while the screen is off, Screen-off gestures are probably disabled on your Oppo phone. These gestures let you open the camera, toggle the flashlight, or wake the display without pressing the power button. A single option in the convenience settings controls all of them.
Clear App Data to Reset an App
If an app on your Oppo phone keeps glitching, shows an outdated login, or wont sync even after a restart, clearing the cache alone often wont fix it. App data stores settings, saved files, login sessions and progress, so removing it resets the app to its original, freshly-installed state. Add Contact to Home Screen

Auto-Enable Power Saving Mode at a Set Battery Level
If your Oppo phone only switches to power saving mode after you tap it manually, the battery often drops further than you would like before you notice. Coloros can trigger power saving mode on its own once the battery reaches a level you choose, anywhere from 5 to 75 percent. Without this setting turned on, you have to remember to activate the mode yourself every time the charge gets low.
Add Emergency Information
If you collapse or end up in an accident, paramedics often can't unlock your phone to check your blood type, allergies, or medications. Oppo lets you store that medical profile so it shows up during an SOS call, no passcode needed. Without filling it in, first responders only see your name and photo, not the details that actually matter in an emergency.
Send an SMS Text Message
If your Oppo phone defaults to a chat app and you can't find a plain SMS option, the native Messages app is often overlooked once internet messengers take over daily chats. This leaves some users unsure where to start a new text conversation or how to reach a contact who does not use a messaging app. A quick look at the Messages app clears up where the SMS function actually lives on Coloros.
Set Time Manually
If the clock on your Oppo phone refuses to change no matter what you tap, the phone is still pulling the time from the mobile network. As long as 'Use time from network' stays active, the manual time field is locked or simply not shown inside Date & time. Turning that toggle off is what unlocks the option to type in your own time.
Set an Alternate Calendar for Dates
Dates in the Calendar app only show up in the Gregorian format, even though you need a Chinese, Hebrew, or Hijri reference for religious or cultural events. This happens because the alternate calendar option is turned off by default and depends on Google Calendar being installed. Without it, Coloros only displays the classic calendar view.
Create a Photo Album
When photos and screenshots keep piling up in one long timeline, finding a specific shot becomes a scroll marathon. The Gallery app on Oppo phones lets you group images and clips into albums, but ColorOS keeps the feature basic. You cannot pick a cover image, rename categories after the fact in every version, or nest one album inside another.
Optimize Battery Consumption
If your Oppo phone drains fast even when you barely touch it, background apps are usually pulling power without you noticing. Oppo phones include a function that scans your usage and shows exactly how much charge you could save, app by app. Knowing which processes it restricts helps you decide if the automatic suggestion fits how you actually use your phone.
Turn On/Off Focus Mode
When Focus mode is active on your Oppo phone, the apps you marked as distracting stop running in the background, so no messages or alerts come through until you check them manually. That silence can look like a bug, especially if you enabled the feature by accident or forgot a schedule was running. Coloros keeps the block in place until you switch the mode off or the scheduled window ends.
Reset Advertising ID
Ads on your Oppo phone keep matching your recent searches and app habits a little too closely. That happens because every device carries a fixed Advertising ID that links your behavior across apps for personalized ads. Turning off interest-based ads alone does not remove that link - the ID itself needs a reset.
Turn Screenshot Gestures On or Off
If a screenshot pops up every time you swipe down with three fingers, or a partial capture opens whenever you touch and hold with three fingers, the screenshot gesture settings on your Oppo phone are active. These gestures work independently from the button combination and are enabled by default in ColorOS. Random captures while gaming or scrolling usually point to one of these gestures firing by accident.
Hide Photos and Videos in the Gallery
If a photo or video keeps showing up in your gallery even though you want it out of sight, ColorOS does not let you hide entire albums. Instead, single photos and videos get marked as private and disappear from normal browsing. Getting them back means digging into a separate area that is protected by your lock screen password, fingerprint, or face recognition.
Set Up Fingerprint Unlock
If your Oppo phone still asks for PIN, pattern or password every time you wake the screen, the fingerprint sensor probably is not set up yet. Fingerprint unlock only works once a backup method like PIN or pattern is already active, since ColorOS needs that fallback to register your print. The same fingerprint also works as a shortcut to reset a forgotten lock screen password.
Turn Color Correction On or Off
If reds and greens look almost identical on your Oppo display, or if certain interface elements blend together, a color vision difference such as Deuteranomaly, Protanomaly or Tritanomaly might be affecting how you read the screen. ColorOS includes a built-in correction tool that shifts on-screen colors to make these differences less noticeable, but it only works once the right mode is selected. Leaving it off or set to the wrong mode means icons, charts and notifications can stay hard to distinguish.
Change Lock Screen Wallpaper
If your lock screen keeps showing the same picture as your home screen, ColorOS is applying wallpaper changes to both screens by default. This happens with your own photos, standard wallpapers, and live wallpapers alike. You need to pick the target screen manually to keep the two separate.
