Auto Switch Between Wi-Fi and Mobile Data
If your Oppo phone keeps stalling on a weak Wi-Fi signal instead of jumping to mobile data, the Wi-Fi Assistant feature is either switched off or mobile data itself is disabled in the background. Videos buffer, messages send late, and apps time out even though the Wi-Fi icon still shows a connection. Turn Keyboard Vibration On or Off
If typing on your Oppo phone feels silent even though you want tactile feedback, or the opposite happens and every tap buzzes when you want quiet, the keyboard has its own vibration setting separate from your system sound menu. Oppo devices run Google's Gboard by default, and its haptic feedback toggle is often confused with the general vibration options elsewhere in the phone. Even with the toggle switched on, the vibration level itself can still be set to zero, which mutes the effect completely.
Turn Bedtime Mode On or Off
If your phone still lights up with notifications and full color at night, Bedtime mode probably isn't scheduled correctly on your Oppo. You can switch it off there, or turn it back on if speech input disappeared after an update.
Set a Custom Ringtone
If the built-in ringtone list feels too limited or you cannot find the option to use your own audio file, ColorOS often buries this setting inside the Sound menu instead of the main Ringtone screen. On dual SIM devices the confusion gets worse, because each SIM card needs its own ringtone assigned separately. Picking a random music file from your gallery app or file manager usually will not apply it as a ringtone either.
Enable Developer Options

Enable Geotagging for Photos and Videos
If your photos never show where they were taken, geotagging is likely turned off in the camera settings. Without it, the shot's location never gets written into the file's metadata, so gallery apps and map views cannot place the picture on a map later. This toggle sits directly in the camera app, separate from the general location settings.
Change Personal Hotspot AP Band (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz)
If your Oppo hotspot feels slow or drops connections when several devices join, it is probably still running on the 2.4 GHz frequency. Many Oppo phones can broadcast on 5 GHz instead, which gives connected laptops and tablets more bandwidth over shorter range. The switch has to be made manually, since the hotspot defaults to 2.4 GHz every time.
Turn On/Off USB-OTG
If a keyboard, mouse or USB stick doesn't get recognized when you plug it into your Oppo phone, USB-OTG is probably switched off. Coloros also disables the feature automatically after about ten minutes without a connected accessory, so it can look off again even though you enabled it before.
Force Full-Screen Mode for Non-Optimized Apps
If an app still shows the status bar and navigation bar on Oppo phones, the system has not marked it as full-screen optimized. This happens with older or less common apps that ColorOS does not automatically stretch to the edges. You can force full-screen display manually, but only if the app itself supports it.
Turn Off Screen Lock

The available options depend on your device model and what your carrier actually supports.
Allow Unlimited Data for Apps in Data Saver
When Data saving mode is on, your Oppo phone cuts mobile data access for most apps in the background, which often causes missed notifications or apps that only load content over Wi-Fi. You can still whitelist specific apps so they keep full data access even while data saving stays active for everything else.
