Delete Face Unlock Data
If you no longer want face recognition to unlock your Oppo phone, the stored face scan needs to be removed manually from the security settings. This step requires your screen lock password or PIN, and skipping it means the phone keeps trying to match your face every time the display wakes up. Some users also notice slower unlock attempts or repeated fallback to PIN entry when an outdated face profile is still active.
Remove a Saved Fingerprint
An old or unauthorized fingerprint on your Oppo phone is a security gap, especially if it belongs to someone else or was only added for a quick test. That print stays active in the background and can unlock the device or confirm payments without you noticing. Clearing it out is the only way to be sure who can actually get in.
Turn On/Off Focus Mode
When Focus mode is active on your Oppo phone, the apps you marked as distracting stop running in the background, so no messages or alerts come through until you check them manually. That silence can look like a bug, especially if you enabled the feature by accident or forgot a schedule was running. Coloros keeps the block in place until you switch the mode off or the scheduled window ends.
Double-Space Period Shortcut
Typing two spaces after a word sometimes inserts a period automatically, even when you only wanted extra spacing. This happens because the Gboard text correction feature turns a double space into a full stop at the end of a sentence. If the shortcut is missing or keeps triggering unwanted periods, the option needs to be checked directly in the keyboard settings.
Hide Photos and Videos in the Gallery
If a photo or video keeps showing up in your gallery even though you want it out of sight, ColorOS does not let you hide entire albums. Instead, single photos and videos get marked as private and disappear from normal browsing. Getting them back means digging into a separate area that is protected by your lock screen password, fingerprint, or face recognition.
Turn Screenshot Sound On or Off
Every screenshot on your Oppo phone plays a camera-shutter sound, even in meetings or quiet rooms. That noise comes from a dedicated toggle in the sound settings, not from the screenshot gesture itself, so silent mode alone often does not stop it.
Turn HDR On or Off in the Camera App
Photos taken indoors or against bright windows often come out either too dark in the shadows or completely blown out in the sky. That happens because the HDR mode in the Camera app is set the wrong way for the scene you are shooting. Switching it on or off manually gives you more control over exposure than letting the camera decide on its own.
Turn Color Correction On or Off
If reds and greens look almost identical on your Oppo display, or if certain interface elements blend together, a color vision difference such as Deuteranomaly, Protanomaly or Tritanomaly might be affecting how you read the screen. ColorOS includes a built-in correction tool that shifts on-screen colors to make these differences less noticeable, but it only works once the right mode is selected. Leaving it off or set to the wrong mode means icons, charts and notifications can stay hard to distinguish.
Add App Exceptions to Do Not Disturb
If Do Not Disturb mode silences a messaging or work app you actually need to hear from, that is expected behavior on Oppo phones, not a bug. Coloros mutes every app by default once Do Not Disturb turns on, and only apps added to the allowed list keep making sound and showing alerts. Without that exception, calls, chats and reminders from that app stay silent until you turn the mode off.
App Animation Speed
If apps on your Oppo phone take a moment too long to open or the closing animation feels sluggish, the app animation speed is probably set slower than you like. This Coloros setting controls how quickly the transition plays when you launch or close an app, separate from actual app loading time.
Switch Between 12- and 24-Hour Time Format
If your Oppo phone shows the time in 24-hour format but you expect a 12-hour clock with AM and PM, that is the default ColorOS behavior, not a bug. Some apps and widgets even keep displaying 24-hour time after you change the system clock, which confuses a lot of users. The fix sits in the date and time settings, separate from the region or language options.
Set an Alarm with Custom Repeat and Ringtone
On Oppo phones several alarms exist side by side, each with its own repeat pattern, snooze length, vibration and ringtone. When you set up a new alarm or edit an existing one, it is easy to miss where these individual options actually live and end up with the wrong sound or repeat days. This mixes up daily wake-up alarms with one-off reminders.
Change Start of Week in Calendar
If your Oppo calendar always opens on the wrong weekday, the region-based Start of the week setting is usually the cause. This throws off the weekly grid in the Calendar app, which gets confusing if you are used to a different day as the first one. You can pick Saturday, Sunday or Monday to match your own routine.
Add Apps and Games to Game Space
If a game or app does not launch inside Game Space on your Oppo phone, it usually has not been added to the managed list yet. Without that step, the app starts as a normal application and misses out on performance tweaks, do-not-disturb, and other Game Space functions.
Change Font Size
If text on your Oppo phone looks too small to read comfortably or too cramped when enlarged, ColorOS lets you adjust the font size on its own. Only the letters scale up or down, while icons, buttons and layout keep their original size, which can make some screens look unbalanced at the extreme settings.
Custom Notification Sounds per App
If every app on your Oppo phone plays the same generic notification tone, it gets hard to tell a chat message apart from a calendar reminder just by sound. Coloros lets you assign a separate ringtone to each app, but the option sits inside app management instead of the general sound settings. Many users only ever find the global tone switch and assume individual app sounds are not possible.
Turn On/Off Select to Speak
When Select to Speak is active, an extra accessibility icon shows up in the navigation bar, and tapping it lets you highlight any text on screen to have it read aloud. It works similar to TalkBack but does not take over your phone's regular touch controls. If that icon suddenly appears or disappears without you doing anything, the setting may have been toggled by accident during a system update or a shared accessibility shortcut.
Set Date Manually
If the date on your Oppo phone is wrong and there is no direct way to edit it, the automatic time sync is the reason. ColorOS locks date and time together, so both need attention once automatic sync gets switched off. Skipping the time step often leaves the clock inaccurate even after you set the correct date.
Turn On/Off Magnification (Accessibility)
If text and icons on your Oppo phone are too small to read comfortably, the built-in magnification tool works like a digital magnifying glass. A triple tap on the screen opens a zoom window that you control with a two-finger pinch. The feature covers the entire display except the keyboard and navigation bar, and many users cannot find where to switch it on or off.
Unlock Private Safe with Fingerprint
Typing in your privacy password every time you want to check files in Private Safe gets tedious fast. Oppo phones let you swap that PIN, pattern or password entry for a fingerprint tap, but the toggle sits buried inside biometric settings and stays off by default. Without switching it on, the fingerprint sensor you already use to unlock your phone has no effect on the vault.
Set Default SIM Card for Calls
With two SIM cards active on your Oppo phone, the system decides on its own which SIM handles an outgoing call unless you set a fixed one. If calls keep going out on the wrong SIM, or ColorOS asks you every single time which line to use, the calling preference in your dual-SIM settings is the setting responsible.
Remove an App Shortcut from the Home Screen
If a shortcut icon refuses to disappear when you try to clean up your Oppo home screen, the App Drawer setting is usually the reason. With App Drawer enabled, removing a shortcut only deletes the icon, not the app. Without it, home screen icons and installed apps are the same thing, so removing one uninstalls the other.
Set Default Keyboard Language
If you type in two or three languages on the same Gboard keyboard, one of them always opens first no matter which app you are in. On Oppo phones this order comes from a language list that most people never touch, so the wrong language keeps showing up before you even start typing. Switching manually every time gets old fast once you notice the list itself controls what appears first.
Show or Hide the Emoji Switch Key on Gboard
On Oppo phones with Gboard, an emoji icon sits next to the space bar by default, letting you jump straight into emojis while typing. If you rarely use it, or you actually need that spot for the language switch button instead, the emoji key gets in the way. Both buttons cannot be shown at the same time, so one always replaces the other.
