On Oppo phones, every app pushes its own icon into the status bar, which quickly turns the top of your screen into a cluttered icon row. If you only want to see how many unread notifications you have, or nothing at all, the icon display is controlled through a separate notification setting. Set Default App Storage to SD Card
Running out of internal storage on your Oppo phone while the SD card sits mostly empty? You cannot install apps directly onto the memory card, but many apps let you redirect new data to it once you set the card as the default storage target. Turn Screencast On or Off
If your Oppo screen does not show up on the Smart TV or another display, Screencast is often switched off or the target device is missing from the list of available receivers. Turn Grid Lines On or Off in Camera
Framing a landscape shot without a horizon reference makes tilted photos easy to miss. On many Oppo phones the camera grid overlay is switched off by default, so there is no composition guide in the viewfinder until you turn it on. Photo and video mode also handle this setting separately, which causes confusion when the grid shows up in one mode but not the other.
Set Default Keyboard Language
If you type in two or three languages on the same Gboard keyboard, one of them always opens first no matter which app you are in. On Oppo phones this order comes from a language list that most people never touch, so the wrong language keeps showing up before you even start typing. Switching manually every time gets old fast once you notice the list itself controls what appears first.
Turn On or Off Flip to Mute Incoming Calls
If your Oppo phone keeps ringing loudly during meetings even after you flip it face-down on the table, the flip-to-mute gesture might be turned off. This gesture silences an incoming call the moment the screen faces down, but only when it is enabled in the gesture settings. If you keep opening the data usage screen just to check how fast your connection is, Oppo can show that number right next to the signal icon instead. On Coloros this real-time network speed indicator is switched off by default, so the status bar only displays signal strength and battery. Turning it on adds a live Mbps or KB/s reading that updates while you browse or stream.
Turn On/Off Contact Suggestions in Messages
Typing a name into a message on an Oppo phone should pull up matching contact details automatically, but nothing shows up. This happens because the 'Suggest Contacts' feature inside the keyboard settings is switched off by default, even though the contact itself is saved correctly on the device.
Forget a Saved Wi-Fi Network
If your Oppo phone keeps reconnecting to an old Wi-Fi network with a wrong password or a router you no longer use, it is still sitting in the saved network list. ColorOS holds on to every network you have ever joined until you remove it yourself, which can cause slow reconnects or a jump to the wrong access point when two networks share a similar name.
Change Camera Storage Location
If new photos on your Oppo phone keep filling up internal storage even though a memory card is inserted, the camera app is likely still set to save shots to the device only. This becomes a problem once internal storage runs low and you cannot move existing photos automatically. Add App Shortcut to the Home Screen

Allow Repeated Calls in Do Not Disturb
Urgent calls from the same number can go straight to silence when Do Not Disturb is active on your Oppo phone. Turn Data Roaming On or Off
If your Oppo phone loses mobile data the moment you leave your home network, data roaming is probably switched off. Outside the EU in particular, this setting can trigger noticeable extra charges from your carrier.
Change Media Volume
If videos, games or music play louder or quieter than expected on your Oppo phone, the media volume slider is usually the cause, not the ringtone or notification volume. This level controls audio for apps and their content separately from calls and alerts. On some ColorOS versions the volume buttons only adjust it while media is actively playing.
Turn On/Off Automatic Data Sync
If contacts, calendar entries or photos on your Oppo phone stop updating in the background, the account sync toggle has likely been switched off. This setting controls whether signed-in accounts like Google keep pushing changes to your device without you opening each app manually.

Block or Unblock a Contact
If a contact keeps calling or texting you and you want it to stop, blocking them cuts off calls and messages without deleting the contact. On Oppo phones this option sits inside the Contacts app rather than a dedicated blocklist screen, so it is easy to overlook. Unblocking later restores calls and texts from that number right away.
Turn Contact Sharing via Bluetooth On or Off
If your contacts don't show up on another device after a Bluetooth pairing, contact sharing is probably switched off for that specific connection. Coloros stores this permission per paired device, so turning it on for one phone or car system does not apply to the next device you connect.
Allow or Block App Autostart
If your Oppo phone feels slow right after a restart, too many apps are probably launching in the background automatically. Each app that keeps an autostart permission keeps running silently, draining battery and RAM before you even open it. ColorOS has a dedicated manager for this, but it is easy to miss and even easier to leave misconfigured.
Remove a Widget from the Home Screen
A widget sitting on your home screen refuses to move or just clutters the layout, and tapping it only opens the linked app instead of offering a way out. On some Oppo models the widget also feels stuck in place, as if it were locked to that spot.
Delete Single or Multiple Contacts
If your contact list on your Oppo phone is cluttered with duplicate entries or people you no longer need to reach, removing them one by one gets tedious fast. The Contacts app lets you select several entries at once and send them to the trash in a single action, but the multi-select toggle is easy to miss if you only tap through individual entries.
