Turn Bedtime Mode On or Off
If your phone still lights up with notifications and full color at night, Bedtime mode probably isn't scheduled correctly on your Oppo. This feature only runs inside a fixed time window, so a wrong start or end time keeps Do Not Disturb and grayscale from kicking in. Manual toggles alone won't stick without an active schedule.
Block Offensive Words in Gboard Suggestions
Typing certain words on your Oppo keyboard and getting no suggestion at all can be confusing, especially if autocorrect skips slang or informal terms you actually meant to use. This happens because the Block offensive words option in the keyboard text correction settings filters out profanity and vulgar terms before they reach the suggestion bar. If TalkBack is running on your Oppo phone, a single tap only selects an item and reads it aloud instead of opening it. Every action now needs a confirming second tap, which makes even switching TalkBack off feel out of reach. This select-then-confirm control catches most users off guard exactly when they try to disable the feature.
Personal Hotspot: Change Name, Password and Band
Your Oppo phone activates a personal hotspot with a generic name and a default password, which is fine for a quick test but risky for daily use. If you want other people to recognize your hotspot easily or you need a stronger password, you have to adjust these settings yourself.
Remove a Keyboard Language from Gboard
If you added several keyboard languages to Gboard on your Oppo phone, swiping through them or long-pressing the spacebar to switch gets tedious fast. Lock Screen Sound On/Off
Locking or unlocking your Oppo phone stays silent by default, so you never hear an audible cue that the screen actually locked. Turn Contact Sharing via Bluetooth On or Off
If your contacts don't show up on another device after a Bluetooth pairing, contact sharing is probably switched off for that specific connection. Coloros stores this permission per paired device, so turning it on for one phone or car system does not apply to the next device you connect.
Turn On/Off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Scanning for Location Accuracy
If your Oppo phone shows your location several streets away, or apps take forever to pin you down in a city, the culprit is often disabled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning. Coloros uses nearby networks and Bluetooth signals to fine-tune GPS, even when both radios are switched off. Without this scanning, location accuracy drops noticeably indoors and between tall buildings.
Set a Monthly Mobile Data Limit
If your Oppo phone keeps burning through your data plan before the billing cycle ends, you are probably missing a cap on mobile data usage. Without a monthly limit set, ColorOS keeps mobile data active even after you cross your contract volume, leading to extra charges. Setting a fixed limit lets the system cut mobile data automatically once you hit that number.
Camera Shutter Sound: Turn On or Off
Every time you tap the shutter button, the Oppo camera app plays an audible click to confirm the photo was taken. In quiet places like meetings, museums or theaters that sound can feel disruptive or draw unwanted attention. This toggle sits inside the camera app itself and works independently from your phone's ringer or notification volume.
Set Default Keyboard
Installed a new keyboard app but Oppo keeps opening Gboard whenever you tap a text field? Activating a keyboard alone does not make it the one your phone actually uses. Until you set it as default, typing still falls back to whichever keyboard was active before.
Remove an Account
If an old account still shows up under Users & accounts on your Oppo phone even after signing out, it was only logged out, not removed. Removing the account deletes its local data and sync settings from the device, but the account and any data stored in its cloud stay untouched.
Limit Connected Devices on Personal Hotspot
By default, an Oppo hotspot accepts up to ten devices at once, which slows down shared data or blocks a new phone or laptop from joining once that cap is reached. If your household needs fewer simultaneous connections for better speed, or more room for extra devices, the ten-device default is not fixed. You can raise or lower it directly in the hotspot settings.
