Auto-Add New Apps to Home Screen
After installing a new app, it lands on your home screen right away, even if you would rather keep your layout tidy. This comes from a setting in Realme UI that decides whether fresh app icons get placed there by default. Turning it off keeps your screen clean, but you then need to check the app drawer for anything you just installed.
Erase All Downloaded Apps and Their Data

Install Apps from the Google Play Store
If your Realme phone only lets you add apps through APK files or unknown sources, you are missing the direct route through the Google Play Store. That store only shows an active Install button once a Google account is signed in on the device. Without a signed-in account, search results appear normally, but the app card asks you to sign in instead of downloading.
Icon Autofill Setting
When you uninstall an app on your Realme phone, the other home screen icons sometimes shift on their own to close the empty spot. That happens because of the Icon autofill setting, which rearranges shortcuts without asking first. If you like keeping your icons in fixed positions, this behavior needs to be switched off.
Force Stop an App
When a Realme app freezes and stops reacting to taps, the screen locks up and closing it from the recent apps view does not help either. Force stop ends the app process immediately, the way End task works on a Windows PC. Used too often it can also wipe unsaved drafts or log you out of the app.
Turn Automatic App Updates On or Off
If your realme phone keeps downloading app updates in the background, mobile data can disappear fast or storage fills up without warning. This happens because Play Store's auto-update setting defaults to updating apps over any available connection, sometimes including mobile data. You can limit updates to Wi-Fi only or turn the feature off completely.
Set an App Timer to Limit Screen Time
If a certain app keeps eating up your day on your Realme phone, an app timer can force a hard stop once your daily budget runs out. The app then locks itself automatically and stays unavailable until the counter resets. This gives you a way to control usage without deleting the app or relying on willpower alone.
App Update Dots: Show or Hide
If a small dot suddenly shows up next to an app icon on your home screen after an update, that is the built-in app update indicator in Realme UI. Some people find it useful as a quick reminder, others just see it as clutter on an otherwise clean home screen. The toggle for this dot is easy to miss because it lives under general home screen options rather than inside app settings.
