Turn On/Off Optimized Night Charging
If your phone sits on the charger all night at full charge, the battery wears out faster than it should. Optimized night charging on Realme phones learns your daily routine and slows the final part of the charge so the battery is not held at 100 percent for hours. When the feature is off or your charging habits are irregular, the phone reaches full charge quickly and just stays there until you unplug it.
Autospace After Punctuation: Enable or Disable
If your texts need a space right after a period, comma or question mark, Gboard on your Realme phone can add it automatically while you type WhatsApp messages or emails. The feature is still in beta and currently works only with the US English keyboard, so it may behave differently or stay hidden with other language settings.
Set Home Screen Wallpaper
If your Realme phone keeps showing the same default background or a live wallpaper you never picked, the Wallpapers menu inside Personalizations is where that setting lives. Static images, animated live wallpapers, and your own gallery photos all sit in one place, but picking the wrong option can leave a live wallpaper running in the background and draining battery. Knowing which category to pick first saves you from applying the wrong wallpaper twice.
App Drawer: Enable or Disable
If all your apps sit scattered across several Realme home screens instead of collected in one place, the App Drawer mode is switched off. Whether new apps land directly on a home screen or in a separate overview depends on this one setting.
Turn Google Location History On or Off
If Google Maps Timeline shows blank days or never remembers the places you visited, Location History is probably switched off for your Google account. If you would rather stop your Realme phone from reporting your movements to Google at all, the same setting is what you need to check. Either way, the toggle sits inside your Google account settings, not in a separate Realme menu.
Move a Widget on the Home Screen
A widget lands in the wrong spot on the Realme home screen and clutters the icons around it. Since every widget has a fixed minimum size, a few pixels off can throw the whole layout out of balance. Repositioning it takes only a quick drag, but the exact gesture is not obvious on the first try.
Connect to a Wi-Fi Network
Downloading a system update or a large app over mobile data can eat through your monthly allowance fast, especially if your carrier caps high-speed data. Before you start a big download on your Realme phone, you want to make sure it actually uses your home or office Wi-Fi instead of cellular data. If the phone keeps falling back to mobile data, the Wi-Fi connection was likely never set up or the password was entered wrong.
Bluetooth Tethering Setup
If your laptop or tablet has no free USB port or you want to avoid draining your battery with a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth tethering shares your Realme phone's mobile data over an existing Bluetooth pairing. Speeds are lower than a Wi-Fi hotspot, but the connection uses noticeably less power. It only works with devices you have already paired over Bluetooth.
Deletion Sound: Turn On or Off
Every time you delete a text message or another item on your Realme phone, a short beep plays automatically. If that sound gets annoying or you cannot find where to switch it off, the option hides inside the general sound and haptics settings, not in a separate app.
Reset Camera Settings
If your Realme camera keeps producing washed-out photos, odd aspect ratios, or shaky video because of settings you tweaked earlier, going back through every option one by one wastes time. A full reset brings the camera app back to its factory configuration in seconds. Your existing photos and videos stay untouched.
Add a Downloaded Keyboard
Installed a new keyboard app from the Google Play Store but it never shows up when you tap the input field? On Realme UI, a downloaded keyboard installs onto the phone but stays switched off until you enable it yourself in the keyboard settings. Until that happens, the system keeps falling back to the default keyboard no matter how often you tap the keyboard-switch icon.
Turn On Automatic Network Selection
If your Realme phone stopped switching networks automatically after a trip abroad or near a border region, chances are automatic network selection got switched off along the way. The phone then stays locked to whichever carrier it last connected to, even when a stronger signal from your home provider is available. This usually happens after a manual carrier search or a change made in roaming settings.
Remove App Shortcuts from the Home Screen
When the home screen on a Realme phone fills up with app icons you rarely tap, finding the apps you actually need takes longer every time. Removing a shortcut only takes the icon off the home screen - the app stays installed and can still run in the background or send notifications. Mixing this up with uninstalling is why storage space does not shrink afterward.
Set App Download Preference
On a Realme phone, the Play Store only fetches new apps and updates over Wi-Fi by default. If you are on the road without Wi-Fi, downloads simply stall until a network is found. This behavior comes from a separate network preference inside your Play Store account settings, not from the phone's general data saver.
Change AP Band for Personal Hotspot
If your Realme hotspot only broadcasts on 2.4 GHz, connected devices compete with every nearby router on that frequency and transfer speeds drop. Some laptops and streaming devices need the faster 5 GHz band to reach full throughput, but the AP band setting rarely gets touched after setup. Switching bands isn't obvious inside the Personal hotspot menu on Realme UI.
Set a Custom Ringtone from Your Own Audio Files
If the default ringtones on your Realme phone all sound the same, you can swap them for a song or audio file you already have on your device. On Dual SIM phones, you can also assign a separate tone to each SIM card, which helps you tell work calls apart from private ones just by the sound. This does not require any extra app.
Send Photos and Videos via Bluetooth
If the Bluetooth option is missing from the share menu, or a paired smart TV never shows up in the device list, transferring a photo or video from your Realme phone stalls before it even starts. This usually comes down to how the Gallery app builds its share list and whether the receiving device is currently discoverable. Range and pairing status also affect which devices actually appear as available.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Scanning for Location Accuracy
If your Realme phone still detects nearby Wi-Fi networks or Bluetooth devices after you switch both radios off, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning is running in the background. This system function lets apps and location services use nearby networks and devices to sharpen your position, independent of the actual Wi-Fi or Bluetooth toggle. That extra accuracy comes with a trade-off in battery use and background access for apps you may not want scanning at all.
Enable Auto Click After Pointer Stop
Clicking a physical mouse button over and over on your Realme phone gets tiring fast, especially during long browsing or gaming sessions. Realme UI has a built-in option that fires a click automatically once the pointer stays still for a moment, so you never touch the mouse button again. The tricky part is finding the toggle and picking a dwell time that feels natural instead of triggering clicks by accident.
Auto Call for Emergency Services Number
If your Realme phone does not dial for help when you rapidly press the power button, the Auto call emergency services number option is probably switched off or missing a saved number. This setting controls whether Emergency SOS places a call on its own after the 3-second countdown, and it only works once a default number is stored.
Change the Home Screen Swipe-Down Gesture
Swipe down on an empty spot of your Realme home screen and you get app or content search when you actually wanted the notification drawer to open - or the other way round. This single home screen setting decides which action runs, and mixing it up with the status bar swipe is a common source of confusion.
Set the Time Manually
If your Realme phone keeps snapping back to network time, entering a new value under Date & time does nothing. Realme UI pulls the clock from your carrier and region automatically, so any manual edit gets overwritten until that sync is turned off. This gets in the way when you have no active SIM, travel with data disabled, or just need a slightly different time for testing.
Change Sound Mode: Ringing, Vibrate or Silent
If your Realme phone stays stuck on Vibrate or Silent even after you tap a quick settings icon, the sound mode toggle in the status bar might not be syncing with your actual settings. This also shows up when calls go straight to Vibrate but notifications still play a tone, or the other way round. Knowing where the real Sound mode switch lives helps you fix mismatched behavior fast.
Set SOS Message Content
An SOS message from a Realme phone only shares your current location by default, which leaves emergency contacts guessing about what is actually happening. If you want them to see or hear what is going on around you, the extra photo and audio options in the emergency settings stay switched off until you turn them on yourself.
