Limit Personal Hotspot Connections
When several devices join your Realme personal hotspot at the same time, mobile data disappears fast and the connection gets noticeably slower for everyone. Realme UI lets you cap the number of devices allowed to connect, so guests or family devices cannot eat into your data plan unnoticed. Without a limit, any nearby device with the password can join until you run out of data.
Turn Wi-Fi On or Off
If your Realme phone will not join a nearby Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi radio itself might be switched off rather than the connection settings being wrong. You can flip Wi-Fi on or off either from the quick settings panel in the status bar or from the dedicated Wi-Fi menu. Leaving Wi-Fi enabled without an active connection also drains the battery faster than it should.
Add Access Point Names (APNs) Manually
If mobile data stops working or MMS messages won't send on your Realme phone, the access point name from your carrier is often missing or incorrect. Realme UI normally pulls these APN settings automatically from your SIM, but a carrier switch, a factory reset, or a corrupted profile can leave the field empty. Without a valid APN entry, your phone cannot establish a data connection at all.
Turn On/Off Emergency Location Service
Realme phones can send your exact location the moment you dial an emergency number, even if you never touched a location setting yourself. Emergency Location Service (ELS) runs independently from Google location controls, so switching those off does not stop it. If you want to decide for yourself whether your position goes out during an emergency call, ELS itself needs to be adjusted.
Connect to Wi-Fi via WPS
Typing a long Wi-Fi password on a small keyboard gets annoying fast, especially with mixed-case characters and symbols. If your router has a physical WPS button within reach, Realme phones can skip the password screen entirely and pair directly with Wi-Fi Protected Setup. No password entry, no QR code needed.
Allow or Block Apps From Scanning for Wi-Fi Networks
If your realme phone still detects nearby Wi-Fi networks with Wi-Fi switched off, a background feature called Scanning always available is likely active. Location services and certain apps use this scan data to improve accuracy, even without an active connection. Turning it off stops that background search, but some location-based apps may become less precise.
Auto-Disable Personal Hotspot When Idle
Leaving the personal hotspot active on your realme phone even when no other device is connected drains the battery and keeps the connection open longer than necessary. Realme UI can switch off the hotspot on its own once it has been idle for a while, but the option is easy to overlook in the settings. Without it enabled, the hotspot only stops when you turn it off yourself or when every connected device disconnects.
Manual Network Selection
If your Realme phone keeps latching onto a weak home carrier near a border or in a rural spot, calls drop and data stalls even though a stronger foreign network sits right next door. Automatic network selection picks whatever signal is strongest, but that can also mean an expensive roaming partner or a 2G-only connection. Switching to manual selection lets you pick the exact network yourself instead of leaving it to the phone.
Auto Switch to Mobile Data
If your realme phone stays connected to a weak Wi-Fi network instead of switching to mobile data, streaming stalls and calls drop even though you have full signal on your carrier network. This happens because Wi-Fi Assistant, the feature that hands off to mobile data automatically, is turned off by default. Once it is active, your phone checks the actual Wi-Fi signal quality and switches over on its own when needed.
Rename a Paired Bluetooth Device
If your Realme phone only shows a serial number, MAC address, or model code for a paired Bluetooth device, keeping several connections apart gets confusing fast. This happens when the accessory does not send a readable name during pairing. Renaming the entry fixes the display without breaking the existing connection.
Turn On/Off Personal Hotspot
If your laptop or tablet won't pick up your Realme's internet connection, the personal hotspot toggle is often switched off or buried in a settings menu you don't check often. It blends radio networks, Wi-Fi signals and sensor data to sharpen your position, but it also sends anonymous location data to Google in the process. Turning it off trades some positioning precision for more privacy.

If your Realme phone shows no mobile data abroad, data roaming is usually switched off by default to prevent unexpected charges. Without it enabled, messengers, maps and browsers cannot connect over the mobile network at all, even though your SIM still shows signal. Typing a long, mixed-case Wi-Fi password on a phone keyboard is slow and error-prone, especially for networks with random character strings. Realme phones can read the network name and password straight from a QR code instead of manual entry. This only works if a QR code for that network actually exists.
Reset Access Point Names (APNs)
If mobile data drops out or MMS messages fail to send after switching carriers or SIM cards, leftover or conflicting APN entries on your Realme phone are usually the reason. Realme keeps every access point name ever added, and an outdated entry can override the one your active SIM actually needs.
Change Preferred Network Type
If your Realme phone shows weak or no 4G signal, calls and mobile data can stop working even though the SIM is active. Switching the preferred network type to a lower generation like 3G often restores a stable connection in these dead zones. This setting also matters when your carrier has not fully rolled out newer coverage in your area.
Add a Wi-Fi Network Manually
If your Realme phone cannot find a Wi-Fi network in the scan list, the router is often set to hide its SSID instead of broadcasting it. In that case the network stays invisible even though other devices connect to it without issues. You can still get online by entering the network name and password yourself.
Turn On/Off Bluetooth Contact Sharing
When you pair your Realme phone with a car system or another Bluetooth device, it does not automatically get access to your contacts. Without contact sharing enabled, caller names may not show up on the car display and voice commands like 'call John' will fail. Some people also want to switch sharing off again to keep their contacts private on a device they only use temporarily.
