If swiping the edge of your hand across the screen does not trigger a screenshot, or if it fires by accident while you grip the phone, the Palm swipe to capture gesture is set the wrong way. This motion feature sits in the gesture settings and can be missed easily since it is off by default on some devices.
Turn On Secret Mode in the Internet App
If browsing history, cookies, and saved form data keep showing up after you close a tab, the Internet app is still saving everything by default. Secret mode stops Samsung's browser from storing history, cookies, site data, or site permissions for the whole browsing session, not just one tab. On a shared device or public Wi-Fi, skipping this setting leaves a full trail behind for the next person who opens the browser.
Turn Call Waiting On or Off
If a knocking tone interrupts your calls out of nowhere, or you never notice a second caller trying to reach you, Call waiting is probably set the way you don't want. Getting the setting wrong means either missed calls or unwanted interruptions mid-conversation.
Close All Tabs in Samsung Internet
Too many open tabs in Samsung Internet slow the browser down and make it hard to find the page you actually need. Scrolling through dozens of thumbnails just to spot one tab wastes time and drains memory. Closing unused tabs regularly keeps the browser fast and responsive.
Force Stop an App
When an app on your Samsung phone stops responding, swiping it away from the recent apps overview usually does not help. That gesture only tells the app to wrap up background tasks, it does not kill a stuck process. If a software glitch is blocking the app, it keeps running in the background, drains battery, or leaves the screen frozen.
Turn an Alarm On or Off

On Samsung phones this function can pull data from Google, from Samsung Pass, or be switched off completely, and mixing providers often causes those wrong entries or missing suggestions in login and shipping forms.
Delete a Conversation
Deleting single texts one by one takes forever when an entire chat thread is cluttering your Messages app. On Samsung phones you can remove a full conversation at once, including every SMS or MMS it contains, instead of clearing messages individually.
Manage App Permissions via Permission Manager
When you install a new app on your Samsung phone, it starts with no access to your camera, microphone, storage or location. Only once you open the app or trigger a specific feature for the first time does a permission prompt appear on screen. If you tapped Deny by accident or want to review which apps can read your contacts, gallery or location, you need Permission manager to check and change each permission individually.
Change Ringtone for Calls
If every call on your Samsung phone still uses the same generic ringtone, the setting is hiding under sound options rather than notifications. Custom tracks also will not show up in the ringtone list until they are copied onto the phone storage first.
Change Mobile Data Usage Limit
On many Samsung phones, mobile data cuts off automatically once usage hits a limit you never chose yourself. Mobile data only comes back once the new billing cycle starts, unless you raise the limit yourself.
Turn Adaptive Battery On or Off
If notifications from an app you rarely open arrive late or not at all, Adaptive battery is probably holding that app in a deeper sleep state in the background. The feature only limits background activity for apps you barely use and leaves apps you open daily untouched. It has no effect on screen brightness or overall device performance, so switching it off will not speed up your phone.
Turn On/Off Auto HDR
Bright skies turn white and shadows go black in the same shot on your Samsung phone. That washed-out look usually means Auto HDR is switched off, so the camera cannot merge multiple exposures into one balanced photo. High-contrast scenes like backlit portraits or landscapes with strong sun suffer most from this.
Keyboard Touch and Hold Delay
If long-pressing a key on your Samsung keyboard keeps popping up accent marks or symbols by accident while you type normally, the touch and hold delay is set too short for your typing speed. The opposite problem also happens: if you have to hold a key noticeably long before the alternate character menu shows up, the delay feels too slow for quick access to accents and special signs. Samsung lets you shorten or lengthen this response time instead of living with either annoyance.
Install an App from the Google Play Store
On a Samsung phone you can install apps through the Google Play Store or through Samsung's own Galaxy Store, and it is not always obvious which one to use for a given app. The Play Store covers most mainstream apps, while some Samsung-specific tools only show up in the Galaxy Store. Picking the wrong store or getting stuck on the search results is the most common reason an install never starts.
Allow or Restrict Background Activity of Apps
If your Samsung phone loses battery fast even when you barely touch certain apps, background activity is often the reason. Some apps keep syncing, refreshing content or checking location while you are not using them, which quietly drains the battery between charges. Change Notification Sound

Set App Timers
If one app on your phone keeps eating more of your day than planned, Samsung's App Timer can shut it down automatically once the daily budget runs out. The app closes itself and stays locked until midnight, then resets. Apps inside Secure Folder or dual-app clones are not affected by this limit at all.
