If your Samsung phone still shows the old software version, the automatic background check may not have run yet. Update search only happens at set intervals, so a released patch can sit unnoticed for hours or longer. Triggering a manual check tells you right away whether a new version is actually available.
Restore Deleted Messages from Trash
If a text message disappears from the Samsung Messages app, it usually is not gone for good. Samsung keeps deleted messages in a Trash folder for a set period before permanent removal, and you can bring them back during that window.
Factory Reset: Settings Guide
If your Samsung phone freezes, lags after a system update, or you are handing it over to someone else, a factory reset wipes the entire internal storage. Every app gets uninstalled and every linked account, including your Samsung account, is removed from the device. Deleting an album in the Gallery app on your Samsung phone removes the album and every photo or video inside it from the device, not just the album name. If Trash is not turned on, that content is gone for good with no recovery option. System albums like Camera cannot be removed this way.
