Switch Between 12-Hour and 24-Hour Time Format
Samsung phones show the clock in 24-hour format out of the box, which throws off anyone used to reading AM and PM. If your lock screen, status bar, and alarms all display times like 14:30 instead of 2:30 PM, the format toggle in your date and time settings is responsible. Switching it affects the whole system, including notifications and the calendar.
Remove a Theme
Unused designs from the Galaxy Store keep taking up storage even when you never open them again. Some themes only need a few MB, but several installed at once add up fast on devices with limited space. Removing the ones you no longer use frees up memory without losing access to them for good.
Add a Photo to a Contact
If a contact still shows only the first letter of the name or one of the animated default images that come with your Samsung device, calls and messages look generic instead of personal. This mainly trips people up when they add contacts after a group already exists.
Change Default Browser App
If every link you tap opens in Samsung Internet instead of Chrome, Firefox, or whatever browser you actually prefer, your phone is still using Samsung Internet as the system default. This happens even after you install a new browser, because Samsung keeps the original default active until you switch it yourself. Once you know where that setting lives, moving to another browser only takes a few taps.
Allow or Block Display Over Other Apps
When a chat bubble or floating icon from an app like Facebook Messenger keeps covering your screen no matter what you open, that app has permission to draw over other apps. Some tools need this to work, like screen recorders or floating widgets, but many apps request it without a clear reason. If the overlay gets in the way or feels like a privacy risk, you can turn it off per app.
Remove Google Search Bar from Home Screen
If the Google search bar keeps taking up space on your Samsung home screen even though you never use it, it is because the widget is preinstalled and pinned by default. It sits there for quick searches or Google Assistant access, but many people just want a cleaner layout with fewer widgets in the way.
Change Clock Style on Lock Screen

Add a Fingerprint on Samsung
Trying to unlock your Samsung phone with your fingerprint but the option in Settings stays greyed out? Samsung always requires a backup PIN, password, or pattern before the Fingerprints menu becomes available. Without that secondary lock set first, you cannot enrol a new fingerprint at all.
