Typing a number straight into the dialer only leaves it in your call log, not in your address book. If you clear that history or set up a new phone, the number is gone for good. The Samsung Contacts app is the only place that permanently stores a name together with a phone number and any extra details you add.
Turn Data Roaming On or Off
When your Samsung phone connects to a foreign carrier network instead of your home network, mobile data stops working until Data roaming is switched on. That is fine while you stay close to home, but abroad it blocks emails, maps and apps from loading over the mobile network. On Samsung devices you can choose a delay of 2, 5, or 10 seconds depending on how much time you need.
Customize Secure Folder Name and Icon
If your Secure Folder still carries its default label and icon, anyone glancing at your app list can spot exactly what it hides. Samsung lets you rename it and swap the icon for something less obvious, but the icon options are limited to presets and the initial letter of your chosen name. You cannot upload a custom image as the icon.
Turn Off Personalized Ads on Samsung
If ads in your apps feel oddly specific to sites you visited or things you searched, Google's Advertising ID is behind it. This ID lets ad networks build a profile from your app and browsing activity, then match ads to your interests across different apps and services.
Mark a Contact as Favorite

Turn Google Play Protect On or Off
If Google Play Protect keeps flagging or automatically disabling an app you trust, the built-in scanner has classified it as suspicious. This often happens with sideloaded APKs or niche tools that Google has not verified, even when the app runs fine. Repeated warning notifications or a greyed-out app icon are the clearest sign that Play Protect is intervening in the background.
Remove Apps from a Folder
Dragging one app at a time out of a crowded folder gets tedious fast, especially when a folder holds ten or more icons. Samsung's One UI does not offer a way to select several apps at once and pull them all out together. If you are trying to clean up a folder quickly, this one-by-one limitation slows the process down noticeably.
Play Tone When Call Connects
If you dial a number and hear nothing until the other person picks up, the connection tone that normally confirms an outgoing call has been switched off. Some Samsung phones ship with this sound disabled after a system update, so you lose the familiar ring back tone. Smart Lock's Trusted places feature can skip the lock screen at locations you use often, but the unlock zone is based on estimated location rather than an exact address. That's why the phone sometimes stays unlocked a bit outside your home or starts locking again before you're actually inside.
Uninstall Secure Folder
Secure Folder can't just be deleted from your Samsung phone - it has to be uninstalled through its own settings menu. Confirming the uninstall wipes everything stored inside it, including apps, photos, contacts and documents. Once removed, you can set up a new Secure Folder from scratch later.

If your Samsung phone freezes, lags after a system update, or you are handing it over to someone else, a factory reset wipes the entire internal storage.
