Reset Camera Settings
If your Samsung camera keeps producing odd results after tweaking resolution, filters, grid lines or shooting modes, restoring the default configuration usually clears the mess fastest. Custom settings like exposure values, watermark options or scene assist can silently stack up and cause blurry, oversaturated or oddly cropped shots. Resetting the camera app wipes every custom option but leaves photos and videos you already captured untouched.
Change Font Style
If every menu, notification, and app on your Galaxy phone still shows the same default typeface, the system font hasn't been changed yet. If you want to keep certain pictures together instead - for a trip, a project, or a specific person - the built-in sorting will not do that for you. Gallery lets you set up a separate album and move or copy pictures into it manually.
Unmount SD Card Safely
Pulling the memory card out of your Samsung phone while it is still active can corrupt files or wipe data that has not finished syncing. The system needs to release the card first, otherwise apps that store data on it may crash or lose access. A software glitch on the phone can also block the card from unmounting cleanly, leaving you unsure if removal is safe.
Answer Calls Automatically
When your Samsung phone is paired with a Bluetooth headset, car kit, or hands-free device, incoming calls should connect the instant you accept them through the accessory. If Answer automatically stays off, you still have to tap the screen manually, which is awkward while driving or wearing a wired headset. The same setting also controls how many seconds pass before the call picks up on its own.
Rename an Album in Gallery
When you try to give a photo album a clearer name on your Samsung phone, the option sometimes seems to be missing. This usually happens because system albums like Camera or Downloads cannot be renamed at all. Albums you created yourself or that come from an app can be renamed without any restriction.
Turn Custom Watermark On or Off
Photos taken with your Samsung camera carry no signature or text, even though a custom watermark would help identify your shots. The built-in watermark stamps text into the lower left corner of every photo, but its position is fixed and the small camera icon next to it can't be removed. Focus mode on Samsung phones can shut off everything except the apps you actually need for a set stretch of time. Change Keyboard Theme
The Samsung keyboard ships with a light design that can feel too bright when you type at night or in low light. Switching to a dark design keeps the letters legible without lighting up the whole screen. An adaptive theme goes further and matches the keyboard color to whatever app you have open.
System Sound Theme Setup
If touch sounds, charging tones, and keyboard clicks all feel mismatched or outdated on your Samsung phone, the active sound theme is usually the cause. Samsung bundles these small system sounds into a single theme instead of letting you edit each one separately. Switching the theme changes all of them at once, which can surprise you if you only wanted to fix one sound.
Show or Hide Status and Navigation Bars on Screenshots
Every screenshot on your Samsung phone captures the status bar and navigation bar by default, so battery icons, the clock, and nav buttons end up in the shot. This happens because the screenshot tool grabs the full screen including both bars. Turning that behavior off gives you clean, edge-to-edge captures without extra cropping afterward.
Space Bar Hold Action
If holding down the space bar on your Samsung keyboard triggers cursor control when you actually wanted voice input, or does nothing at all, the touch-and-hold behavior is set to an option that does not match how you type. Schedule Update Installation
Not every firmware update on your Samsung phone has to go in right away. Installing it in the middle of the day means the restart interrupts whatever you're doing. Samsung lets you pick a time within the next 24 hours so the install and restart happen automatically when you're not using the phone.
Turn Show Palm On or Off for Selfies
If your Samsung camera keeps snapping photos every time you raise an open hand, the 'Show palm' gesture is reacting to more than just selfies. This automatic gesture starts a three-second timer whenever it detects a raised palm, which can trigger unwanted shots in group photos or video calls. Turning it on or off only takes a few taps inside the camera settings.
Turn Bluetooth On or Off
If your Samsung phone keeps reconnecting to a car stereo or speaker you did not want right now, Bluetooth is still active in the background. Leaving the radio running also uses a small amount of battery even with nothing paired. Switching it off stops these automatic reconnections until you turn it back on.
Change System Settings App Permission

Samsung lets you pick individual apps for this pop-up feature, but the setting sits deep inside the notification menu and is easy to miss. Skip it, and apps you actually want pop-ups from might stay switched off while noisy ones keep interrupting you.
Set Default SIM Card for Calls
If your Samsung phone keeps dialing out from SIM 1 even though you meant to call from SIM 2, the default call SIM is likely locked to the wrong card. You can also set the phone to ask every time before placing a call, which helps when you keep one SIM for work and one for personal contacts. This same setting can be changed directly from the status bar shortcut, not just deep inside the settings menu.
Hide Notification Pop-ups in Do Not Disturb
Even with Do Not Disturb turned on, notification banners and icons keep popping up on the screen, they just arrive silently. That happens because Do Not Disturb only mutes sound and vibration by default, it does not hide the visual notification itself. If you want your screen to stay completely clear while the mode is active, you need a separate setting for that.
Edit or Add Quick Responses in Messages
Samsung Messages ships with a set of predefined quick responses that often no longer match how you actually text people. Some feel outdated, others are missing entirely, and there is no obvious way to swap them out from the compose screen. The fix lives in a settings menu most people never open.
Turn Sticker Suggestions On or Off
Stickers and emoji suggestions from Bitmoji or mojitok can pop up every time you type on a Samsung keyboard, even in apps where you don't want them. This happens because sticker suggestions run as a separate function from regular word prediction. You can also choose which apps are allowed to show these suggestions.
Add Emergency Contacts
If your phone is locked during an emergency, nobody can reach the people you trust unless they are saved as emergency contacts. Samsung ties this list to your Contacts profile, not to your regular address book, so numbers you already have saved will not show up on their own. Without this setup, SOS messages and lock-screen emergency calls have nobody to go to.
Turn On or Off Automatic QR Code Scanning
If your Samsung camera no longer picks up QR codes while you're in normal photo mode, the automatic QR scanning function is probably switched off. Older Samsung devices used a separate scan mode for this, but current models detect codes directly through the standard camera view. When the option is disabled, pointing the camera at a code does nothing at all.
