Edit a Contact Group
A contact group on your Samsung phone rarely stays useful forever. Team members change, a birthday club grows, and the group ringtone you picked months ago no longer matches the rest of your alerts. Renaming the group, swapping members, or changing its sound is not obvious if you have never opened the group settings before.
Forward a Message
Copying and pasting the text of an SMS only grabs the words, not the attachments, photos, or links that came with it. If you want to send the whole message along with everything it contains, Samsung's Messages app has a dedicated forward option built into every conversation.
Reject a Call with a Text message
When your phone rings during a meeting and you cannot pick up, hanging up alone leaves the caller wondering why. Samsung phones can decline the call and send a short explanation automatically, but many users never notice the option sitting right on the incoming call screen.
Create a New Calendar Event
If your calls, messages or appointments never show up in a shared calendar, no event has actually been created yet. The Samsung Calendar app pulls in every account you are signed into, but each appointment still needs to be added manually with the right time, location and reminder.
Show Contact Info on the Lock Screen
If your Samsung phone or tablet ends up lost, the lock screen normally gives a stranger no way to reach you. A short contact line - a phone number, email address, or simple message - can sit right on that screen, up to 65 characters long. Anyone who picks up the device sees this text without unlocking it, so think twice before adding sensitive details.
Mark All Messages as Read
When messages pile up from several conversations, opening each chat just to clear the unread badge gets tedious fast. On Samsung phones, unread counts can stack up in the Messages app, especially after being offline or on Do Not Disturb for a while. A single option lets you clear every unread badge without tapping into each conversation one by one.
Block a Phone Number
Getting repeated calls or texts from the same unknown or unwanted number is more than annoying when your phone keeps ringing at the wrong moment. Samsung phones let you block specific numbers even if they were never saved as a contact. Once a number is on the block list, calls go straight to rejection and messages never reach your inbox.
Change Contact Name Format
If your contacts list shows names as First Name, Last Name and you would rather see Last Name, First Name, the display setting inside the Contacts app controls that order. This has nothing to do with how a contact was originally saved, so switching the format does not touch any contact data. The change only affects how names appear across Calls and Messages, not the underlying entries or numbers.
