Change Folder Color on Home Screen
App folders on Samsung phones default to plain white or gray, which makes it hard to tell them apart at a glance. If you want folders to match your wallpaper or stand out visually, the color has to be changed manually per folder. You can also adjust how see-through the color appears.
Remove a Theme
Unused designs from the Galaxy Store keep taking up storage even when you never open them again. Some themes only need a few MB, but several installed at once add up fast on devices with limited space. Removing the ones you no longer use frees up memory without losing access to them for good.
Select Network Manually
Near a border or while traveling abroad, your Samsung phone often locks onto whichever foreign network has the strongest signal, not the cheapest one. That automatic choice can mean higher roaming charges than a neighboring operator would offer for the same coverage. Switching to manual selection lets you pick the exact network yourself instead of leaving it to the phone.
Disable Automatic Hotspot 2.0 Wi-Fi Connection
If your Samsung phone keeps joining unfamiliar Wi-Fi networks in cafes, airports or train stations without asking, Hotspot 2.0 is doing its job in the background. The feature links you to certified public networks automatically, which can drain data or battery on networks you never chose yourself. You can switch this automatic behavior off in the Wi-Fi settings.
Turn Edge Panels On or Off
On many Samsung phones a thin bar sits along the right or left screen edge and slides open into a panel whenever you drag it inward. This comes from the Edge panels feature, which ships active by default and can get in the way during games or one-handed use. If you never open the panels, the handle itself still stays visible and reacts to touches near the border.
Reset All Settings
If your ringtone, keyboard behavior, or display options feel wrong after some tweaking, a full settings reset can undo the mess without touching your files. Samsung's Reset all settings option restores default values for sound, language, security, and other system menus while keeping apps, photos, and contacts exactly where they are. It is the safer alternative when you do not want to go through a complete factory reset.
Restore Default App Icons
Once you've applied a custom icon pack on your Samsung phone, there's no toggle in the app settings or launcher menu to bring icons back to their original look. The only place that reset lives is inside the Themes app, which most people never open again after installing a theme or icon set.
Smart Anti-Tracking: Turn On or Off
Closing Secret mode does not stop every site from tracking you across sessions. Cookies and browsing traces from the regular Internet app can still build a profile of you, even after you clear history manually. Smart anti-tracking works independently of Secret mode and can clean this up automatically.
Sort Contacts by First or Last Name
If your contact list on a Samsung phone lines up alphabetically by first name when you expected last-name order, the sort setting inside the Contacts app is responsible, not the Phone app itself. The Samsung Calendar app opens in month view by default, even if you prefer to track events by day or week. Switching to a different layout is done through a menu option that is easy to overlook the first time you look for it.
Enable Suspicious Network Detection for Wi-Fi
Connecting to a public Wi-Fi hotspot at a cafe or airport can quietly redirect your traffic through a rogue captive portal without any warning on screen. Samsung devices include a background check that flags this kind of suspicious network behavior, but the toggle for it is easy to miss and sometimes gets switched off during a reset. If the feature is disabled, your phone stays silent even when a network tries to intercept requests.
Change Call Vibration Pattern
If every incoming call feels like the same long buzz, your Samsung phone is still set to the standard call vibration. One UI actually ships with several distinct patterns, including a heartbeat, a knocking rhythm and a waltz-style pulse, but most people never notice the option exists. Picking a different pattern helps you tell calls apart from notifications by feel alone, without looking at the screen.
Clear Call Log
Every incoming, outgoing, missed and rejected call stays listed in the Samsung Phone app until you remove it yourself. Old numbers, call times, durations and even the SIM card used pile up over weeks, which can be a privacy issue if someone else picks up your phone. There is no automatic cleanup, so the log only grows unless you clear it manually.
Turn Screen Rotation On or Off
If your Samsung screen stays locked in portrait mode even when you turn the device sideways, the Auto rotate function is switched off. The opposite problem also happens: the display keeps flipping between portrait and landscape when you just want it to stay put. Both behaviors come down to a single quick setting that controls whether the screen follows the physical orientation of the phone.

Allow or Block Messages in Do Not Disturb
When Do Not Disturb is on, your Samsung phone hides every incoming SMS and MMS by default, even from close contacts. If you need certain texts to get through during quiet hours, the message exception list controls exactly who can reach you.
