Add a New Contact
Typing a number straight into the dialer only leaves it in your call log, not in your address book. If you clear that history or set up a new phone, the number is gone for good. The Samsung Contacts app is the only place that permanently stores a name together with a phone number and any extra details you add.
Edit and Reorder Edge Panel Contacts
If your Edge panel still shows outdated contacts or apps you never open, the panel content does not update on its own and needs manual editing. Positions also stay fixed until you rearrange them yourself, which often buries your most-used contacts at the bottom of the list.
Customize Secure Folder Name and Icon
If your Secure Folder still carries its default label and icon, anyone glancing at your app list can spot exactly what it hides. Turn Off Personalized Ads on Samsung
If ads in your apps feel oddly specific to sites you visited or things you searched, Google's Advertising ID is behind it. This ID lets ad networks build a profile from your app and browsing activity, then match ads to your interests across different apps and services.
Set a Lock Screen with Pattern, PIN or Password
If your Samsung phone still starts up without asking for a Pattern, PIN or Password, anyone who picks it up can open your apps, messages and photos right away. Without an active screen lock, features like Secure Folder, Samsung Pass and biometric unlock cannot work properly either. Setting a real unlock method is the only way to keep the device locked between uses.
Switch Between Front and Rear Camera
Jumping from a landscape shot to a quick selfie shouldn't mean closing the Camera app and reopening it. On Samsung phones the front and rear lenses share one interface, but the small switch icon is easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Turn Predictive Text On or Off
Predictive text on the Samsung keyboard suggests words as you type, based on your past entries. If suggestions feel outdated, oddly personal, or simply distracting while you type, the keyboard's learning behavior is usually the cause. Turning predictive text off stops new suggestions and keeps the keyboard from adapting further to your typing history.
Turn Google Play Protect On or Off
If Google Play Protect keeps flagging or automatically disabling an app you trust, the built-in scanner has classified it as suspicious. This often happens with sideloaded APKs or niche tools that Google has not verified, even when the app runs fine. Repeated warning notifications or a greyed-out app icon are the clearest sign that Play Protect is intervening in the background.
Uninstall Secure Folder
Secure Folder can't just be deleted from your Samsung phone - it has to be uninstalled through its own settings menu. Confirming the uninstall wipes everything stored inside it, including apps, photos, contacts and documents. Once removed, you can set up a new Secure Folder from scratch later.
Change Timer Volume
The timer alarm on Samsung phones ignores the physical volume buttons and the usual sound settings, because it runs through its own separate slider. Users often turn up media or ringtone volume expecting the timer to get louder, but the timer stays at whatever level was last set inside the Clock app itself.

Turn On/Off Accidental Touch Protection
If your Samsung phone wakes up in your pocket or bag and taps random apps or dials contacts, the screen is registering touches it should ignore. This usually happens when the display turns on in a dark or enclosed space and the accidental touch protection feature is off or misconfigured. The result can be missed calls, sent messages, or apps opened without your knowledge.
Show or Hide the Lockdown Button in the Power Menu
Face Detection, Smart Lock and even the fingerprint sensor are convenient, but none of them is the strongest lock on your phone. If that button is missing, or you want it gone for good, the toggle sits in a spot most people never check.
Manage App Permissions via Permission Manager
When you install a new app on your Samsung phone, it starts with no access to your camera, microphone, storage or location. Only once you open the app or trigger a specific feature for the first time does a permission prompt appear on screen. If you tapped Deny by accident or want to review which apps can read your contacts, gallery or location, you need Permission manager to check and change each permission individually.
Allow or Mute Alarm and Notification Sounds During Calls
If alarms and notification sounds keep interrupting your calls, or you cannot hear them at all until you hang up, the Notify during calls option is behind it. This setting decides whether the phone plays alert sounds while a call is active or holds them back until you finish talking. Getting the behavior you actually want means knowing where this toggle lives and what it affects.
Show or Hide Public Holidays in Calendar
If public holidays keep showing up in your Samsung Calendar even though you never added them, they are pulled in automatically from a signed-in Google Account. Which country's holidays appear depends on the region or language set in your system preferences, not on the calendar app itself. Turning them off means adjusting the display settings for that specific account, not deleting entries one by one.
Lock or Unlock Home Screen Layout
If apps and widgets keep shifting position on your Samsung home screen, or a new app suddenly lands in the wrong spot, the layout is probably unlocked. Set Up Fingerprint Unlock
If your Samsung phone only wakes up with a pattern, PIN, or password, the fingerprint sensor sits unused even though it can unlock the device just as reliably. This usually happens because Fingerprints was never switched on in the lock screen settings, even after a fingerprint got registered. Without that toggle enabled, every unlock still needs the full pattern or code, no matter how many fingerprints are stored.
Export Contacts as vCard
Switching to a new phone or backing up your contact list only works if you can get every saved entry out of the Contacts app in one file. Without exporting first, you are left copying numbers one by one. Samsung phones can bundle everything into a single vCard file that other devices, apps and services can read.
