If one saved contact keeps calling or texting after you have asked them to stop, blocking is the only way to silence both channels at once. The tricky part is that a blocked contact stays visible in your contact list and cannot be hidden, which surprises many users. If you want to stop a number without ever saving it as a contact, a separate blocking method covers that case with the same effect.
Change Call Vibration Pattern
If every incoming call feels like the same long buzz, your Samsung phone is still set to the standard call vibration. One UI actually ships with several distinct patterns, including a heartbeat, a knocking rhythm and a waltz-style pulse, but most people never notice the option exists. Picking a different pattern helps you tell calls apart from notifications by feel alone, without looking at the screen.
Turn Screen Rotation On or Off
If your Samsung screen stays locked in portrait mode even when you turn the device sideways, the Auto rotate function is switched off. Switch to Mobile Data Automatically
When your Wi-Fi signal turns weak or drops out, apps can freeze or fail to load even though the Wi-Fi icon still shows full bars. Samsung phones include a 'Switch to mobile data' option that hands the connection over to your cellular network once Wi-Fi quality drops too low. Without it enabled, your phone keeps trying to use a bad Wi-Fi signal instead of switching over on its own.
Enable or Disable Google Voice Typing
If the microphone icon is missing from your Samsung keyboard, Google voice typing is probably switched off in the keyboard settings. This feature turns spoken words into text while you type, but only works once it is active under Language and input. You can switch it on or off at any point without changing your default keyboard app.
Change Timer Sound
If the timer on your Samsung phone always plays the same tone, no matter which alarm or reminder you set, the Clock app is likely still using its default Timer sound. You can swap it for another preset tone or a custom sound file, but the option sits inside a separate sound menu that many people never open.

Set the Volume Key Function in Camera
Pressing the side volume buttons on your Samsung phone snaps a photo or starts recording a video by default, which can surprise you while you're just trying to hold the phone steady. If you'd rather zoom in and out or control the system volume with those same buttons, the camera app has a separate setting for that. Install Ad Blocker in Samsung Internet
If every page load buries the content under banners, pop-ups, and autoplay video ads, Samsung Internet is missing an ad blocker extension. The browser does not filter ads on its own, so pages stay cluttered and load slower until you add one yourself. Some heavy ad-driven sites can even make scrolling feel laggy on older devices.
