Change Font Size
If text on your Samsung phone looks too small to read comfortably, the issue is not the screen but the default font size in One UI. The display settings let you scale text up or down, but this only changes the text itself, not the size of app icons.
Rename a Fingerprint
When you add several fingerprints on your Samsung phone, they all get generic labels like Fingerprint 1 or Fingerprint 2. If more than one person unlocks the same device, it gets confusing to tell whose print is stored where.
Show or Hide Date and Location in Gallery Photos
If the photo details in the Gallery only show file size and resolution, but never a place name, geotagging was probably switched off when the shot was taken. The date and location overlay only works retroactively for pictures that already carry that metadata.

Change Google Backup Account
If Samsung keeps backing up your data to the wrong Google Account, your photos, contacts and app settings end up in a profile you barely use. This usually happens when a second Google Account gets added to the phone after the first backup was already set up. If the sound for taking a screenshot or capturing a photo suddenly cannot be turned off on its own anymore, Samsung has likely bundled it into a shared system sound category. Save a Web Page as PDF
Recipes, route planners or a step-by-step guide often disappear once you close the tab, lose signal or the page gets updated. Bookmarking only keeps a link, and the offline saving option in the Samsung Internet browser does not always preserve the layout. Exporting the page as a PDF keeps the text, images and formatting stored directly on your phone.
Turn Adaptive Power Saving On or Off
If apps you rarely open stop sending notifications or refuse to sync in the background, Adaptive power saving is likely throttling them without asking you first. This automation tracks how often you use each app and quietly cuts background access to the ones it decides you barely need. Turning it off hands manual control back to you for every app's power behavior.
Turn Google Drive Backup On or Off
If your Samsung phone seems to back up the same data twice, Google Drive backup might be running alongside Samsung Cloud without you noticing. This can quietly eat into your Google storage or leave you unsure which backup actually holds your latest photos and app data. Knowing where this toggle sits helps you decide which backup system to rely on.
Delete a Contact Group
If a contact group on your Samsung phone has outlived its purpose, it stays listed in your Contacts app until you remove it manually. You can delete just the group label or wipe the group together with every stored member. One group, Emergency contacts, cannot be removed this way.
Create a Folder on the Home Screen
Your Home screen fills up fast when every app gets its own icon, and scrolling through several pages just to find one app gets tiresome. Typing out a long WLAN password on a guest's phone wastes time and usually ends in a typo or two. Samsung's Wi-Fi QR code scanner reads the network credentials straight from another device's shared code, so you skip manual entry completely. The catch: the other device has to generate and display that QR code first before your phone can scan it.
Turn On/Off Bedtime Mode
If your Samsung phone suddenly switches to grayscale and notifications stop coming through at night, Bedtime mode is likely active. Held-back alerts only appear once the scheduled period ends, which can make it look like your phone stopped receiving messages entirely. This differs from Do Not Disturb, since Bedtime mode also dims the display and can run on a fixed schedule.
Add Trusted Devices for Smart Lock
If your Samsung phone still asks for a PIN every time you get in the car or plug in your headphones, Smart Lock is not recognizing your Bluetooth accessory as trusted yet. Change Contact Name Format

Installed a new keyboard app but your Galaxy phone still opens Samsung Keyboard for typing? That happens because a freshly installed keyboard is not automatically allowed to become the default input method. It first has to be switched on in the keyboard manager before the system even offers it as an option.
Ignore Repeated Touches: Turn On or Off
If a single tap on your Samsung device sometimes registers as two or three taps, or a light touch triggers extra input, the screen may be reacting to accidental double contact. The Ignore repeated touches feature controls how long the display waits before accepting another tap after the first one. Adjusting it helps if you have shaky hands, a cracked screen, or a case that causes phantom touches.
Restore Deleted Photos from Gallery Trash
A photo or video you thought was gone might still be recoverable on your Samsung phone. The Gallery app keeps deleted files in a hidden Trash folder, but only for a limited time before they are wiped for good. If the recycle bin was switched off or the file is older than the retention window, recovery is no longer possible.
Schedule Dark Mode
If Dark Mode stays on well past sunrise or never switches off before you go to bed, the automatic schedule on your Samsung phone probably is not set up yet. Samsung lets you tie Dark Mode to sunset and sunrise or to a fixed time you choose, but this option sits switched off by default, so most people end up toggling the display mode by hand every day.
