Turn Auto-Sync Data On or Off
If your Xiaomi phone burns through mobile data or drains battery faster than expected, background account synchronization is often the reason. This setting keeps your Google Account data, like contacts, calendar entries and photos, updated in the background at all times. Switching it off stops the drain immediately but also means new changes stop arriving until you sync manually.
Add an Account
If WhatsApp, Facebook or another app did not create the account you need automatically, you have to add it yourself before contacts, calendar or backup data can sync. Xiaomi phones bundle every linked account - Google, Exchange, Mi Cloud and more - under a single settings screen, but that screen is easy to miss on a new device. Without the account added there, the app keeps asking you to sign in every time you open it.
Remove a Linked Account
If chats, photos or documents suddenly disappear after cleaning up accounts on your Xiaomi phone, the sync connection for that account was likely removed rather than just logged out. Google, WhatsApp, Facebook and similar accounts all sit under the same accounts module, and removing one can wipe locally cached data tied to it. Knowing which account type you are touching matters before you tap confirm.
