Assign a Contact to a Speed Dial Number auf Xiaomi
Speed dial numbers on Xiaomi phones stay unassigned by default. Each digit on the dial pad only becomes a shortcut once you link it to a saved contact through the Phone app settings.
Open the Open the Phone app, then tap Open the Settings. Inside the settings menu, select Tap on Advanced settings and then Tap on Quick dial. This opens the list of available speed dial slots.
Tap Choose a quick dial number for the slot you want to use, then pick the contact you want to reach through Choose a contact. The link stays active until you remove or replace it manually.
Once set, press and hold the assigned digit on the dial pad to call that contact directly, without opening the contact list first. This works from the standard dial pad screen in the Phone app.
Speed dial is useful for contacts you call often, such as family members or a main work contact. If a call still does not go through after assigning a number, check whether the linked contact still exists or if the slot got overwritten by mistake.
