Wi-Fi Direct on Xiaomi phones running MIUI does not come with a single on/off switch. The toggle stays active until every paired device is disconnected first, which confuses users who expect one tap to be enough.

Go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Wi-Fi ➔ Tap on Additional settings ➔ Tap on Wi-Fi Direct. This screen lists every device currently connected through Wi-Fi Direct.

Tap on each connected device and confirm the disconnect with Confirm with OK. Repeat this for every entry in the list. Once the last connection is removed, Wi-Fi Direct switches off automatically and stays inactive until a new device pairs with it.
