Pocket Mode in the Camera App auf Xiaomi
Pocket mode stops the touchscreen from reacting to accidental presses while the phone sits in a pocket or bag. Xiaomi devices use the proximity and light sensors to detect this state, then lock touch input on the camera screen until the phone is taken out again.
Without this setting active, fabric pressure or movement can trigger the shutter button, switch camera modes, or open the gallery without you noticing. That leads to random blurry shots or a drained storage full of accidental captures.
To check or change the setting, open the Camera app ➔ Open the menu ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Enable or disable Pocket mode. Toggle it on to lock touch gestures automatically, or turn it off if you prefer full manual control over the camera at all times.
If the camera still behaves oddly after adjusting this option, check whether the proximity sensor is covered by a case or screen protector. A blocked sensor can prevent pocket mode from detecting the pocket state correctly, regardless of the toggle.
