Enable or Disable Simple View for Contact List auf Xiaomi
On Xiaomi phones running MIUI, the Contacts app shows a profile picture and extra details next to every saved contact by default. That works fine with a short contact list, but once you have hundreds of entries, all those photos and info snippets slow down scrolling and make it harder to scan names quickly.
MIUI includes a built-in toggle that switches the whole list to a plain text view. No photos, no extra info lines, just names in a compact list. This is especially useful if you rely on the phone dialer or Contacts app a lot for quick lookups, or if you are on an older device where rendering many profile pictures at once causes lag.
Where to find the setting
Open Contacts app ➔ tap Menu ➔ open Settings ➔ toggle Display photos and info on or off.
Turning this off removes photos and secondary info from the list view only. Your saved contact photos and details are not deleted, they are just hidden from the overview. Turn the toggle back on any time to restore the standard view with pictures and info.
If your list still feels slow after switching to simple view, the delay is more likely linked to a very large number of synced accounts (Google, WhatsApp, etc.) rather than this display setting.
