Set Default Keyboard Language auf Android
Gboard picks its default typing language from the order of the languages saved under its settings, not from your phone's system language. Whichever language sits at the top of that list loads automatically whenever you open a text field. If the wrong one is on top, you have to tap the globe or spacebar-switch icon every single time before you can type normally.
This happens most often after adding a new keyboard language without checking its position, or after a system update resets the list order. The fix is reordering the languages inside Gboard itself, not the general system language settings.
Open Settings ➔ System ➔ Keyboard ➔ On-screen keyboard ➔ Gboard ➔ Languages. Tap Edit, then drag the language you want as default to the very first position in the list.
Once it sits at the top, Gboard loads it automatically on every new text field. Other saved languages stay available through the language switcher, so you lose nothing by reordering them, you only change which one loads first.
If typing still opens the wrong keyboard afterward, check whether a different keyboard app is set as the active input method, since Gboard's language order only applies while Gboard itself is selected.
