Manage Preferred SIM

Previously I had 2 SIM cards loaded and set SIM 2 to preferred SIM for communications. Now I only have SIM 1 loaded with a different supplier. I am unable to edit the SIM cards Slot 1 for preferred SIM for communications. The phone still shows the network for the removed SIM slot 2. I have done a factory reset but still have the problem. Advice please.
