Camera glass replacement

Hi. Unfortunately I have broken the camera glass on my armor 7e and have just received a replacement kit. It comes with tools, the glass and a matching film piece but no instructions. My first question is, does the film piece go on first to provide adhesion for the glass or it this simply a protector to put on after the glass is installed?

My second question is, there is a white dot on one side of the glass piece. I assume this is to be installed upward and face down? Hope that makes sense?
