Can't transfer photos from my phone.

Hi,
I can't transfer any files from my phone to my computer. Although my computer does recognize my phone when the USB is connected there are no files at all when I click to open them. I am using Windows 7 and have tried to repeat the process to no avail. Any help would be most welcome.
