Swipe to go forwards/backwards

The browser app on the Huawei smartphone comes with a useful function for quick navigation while browsing the web, which allows us to scroll backwards and forwards between sites by swiping away from the edges of the Huawei smartphone.

The browser app on the Huawei smartphone brings some features to make surfing the Internet even safer, for which we have the following options:

  • Safe browsing: Automatically check the security of visited websites.
  • Do Not Track: Do not track visited websites or record data.
  • Block tracking cookies: Automatically block third-party cookies that track user activity.

Night mode

The browser on the Huawei smartphone comes with a dark design or night mode, which blacks out the layout and darkens web pages to make surfing the Internet easier on the eyes. This
mode is especially recommended in low light conditions or before bedtime, as it reduces all bright or blue light tones.

Homepage

Change search engine

By default, Google is set as the search engine on the Huawei smartphone, for which we have the choice of the following providers:

Block pop-ups

The browser app on the Huawei smartphone can automatically block pop-ups, preventing websites from opening new tabs. This feature can be enabled or disabled at any time in the browser settings.

Note: Some web pages require the opening of additional tabs, for example to be able to perform a login.

Ad filter

The browser app on the Huawei smartphone includes a function to automatically block or filter displayed advertisements. The ad filter can be enabled or disabled at any time.

Content feed

When starting the browser of the Huawei smartphone, we will see links to websites such as Google, YouTube or N-TV by default, but if we want to have an
additional content or news feed on the start page that informs us about current news topics, we will find the News service option in the browser settings.

Note: If the news service is activated, we can determine whether an autoplay of videos should take place, whereby we can specify whether these should be loaded only via WiFi or also the mobile data.
