Bluetooth

If you use a Bluetooth-headset or -speaker, you first need to connect these devices. For this, you need to turn on Bluetooth first.

Note: Bluetooth can be turned on or off on your Huawei device over the quick start bar too. If you do not use Bluetooth, we recommend turning it off to save battery.

Step 1:  Open the  settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Bluetooth
Step 3:  Activate or deactivate  Bluetooth

Connect Bluetooth devices

To connect bluetooth devices like for example headsets, headphones or speakers to your Huawei device, you first need to pair the devices. Paired devices will automatically connect to each other if they are near of each other and Bluetooth is turned on.

Step 1:  Open the  settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Bluetooth
Step 3:  Activate  Bluetooth
Step 4:  Choose the  device  you want to connect to
Step 5:  Tap on  Pair

  3. Activate Bluetooth
  4. Choose the device you want to connect to
  5. Tap on Pair

Bluetooth tethering

Alternatively to the USB tethering, you can also share the mobile data on your Huawei device by bluetooth with others. Just pair your device with for example a laptop and activate bluetooth tethering.

Step 2:  Tap on  Mobile network
Step 3:  Tap on  Tethering & portable hotspot
Step 4:  Activate or deactivate  Bluetooth tethering

  4. Activate or deactivate Bluetooth tethering

Unpair a Bluetooth device

If we have paired devices in the overview of the Huawei smartphone that are no longer needed, we can completely remove the pairing, in which case the pairing is deleted and would have to be restored in case of a new connection.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Bluetooth
Step 3:  Open the  menu  of the paired device
Step 4:  Tap on  Unpair

  2. Tap on Bluetooth
  3. Open the menu of the paired device
  4. Tap on Unpair

Rename paired device

The paired devices on the Huawei smartphone can be renamed at will, as many devices identify themselves with only a model code and the overview does not remain clear when several devices are paired.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Bluetooth
Step 3:  Open the  menu  of the paired device
Step 4:  Tap on  Rename
Step 5:  Enter a  name  and tap  OK

  3. Open the menu of the paired device
  4. Tap on Rename
  5. Enter a name and tap OK

Sending a file via Bluetooth

Files such as photos or videos can be sent via Bluetooth
if both devices have been paired before.

Note: In this manual we only send one picture, but more options are available.

Step 2:  Tap on  Share
Step 3:  Tap on  Bluetooth
Step 4:  Choose an available  device  and follow the instructions on screen

Contact sharing with Bluetooth device

For example, if we have paired the Huawei smartphone with the radio or sound system in the car, we can share the stored contacts so that we can call contacts directly using the audio system by voice command.
