Lock screen password

To protect your Huawei smartphone from accidental navigation or unauthorized access, you can activate a screen lock. You can define secure unlocking methods for this. You can set this by drawing a pattern, PIN or password.

 

Note: In these instructions, we set a screen lock using the "4-digit PIN" unlocking method. Other options can be accessed in the same way. Please follow the instructions on the screen.

Android 10 (EMUI 10.0)
Step 1:  Open the  settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Biometrics & password
Step 3:  Tap on  Lock screen password
Step 4:  Tap on  Change unlock method
Step 5:  Choose  4-digit PIN, Custom PIN, Pattern  or  Password
Step 6:  Type in a  PIN
Step 7:  Confirm  PIN
  1. Open the settings
  2. Tap on Biometrics & password
  3. Tap on Lock screen password
  4. Tap on Change unlock method
  5. Choose 4-digit PIN, Custom PIN, Pattern or Password
  6. Type in a PIN
  7. Confirm PIN

Fingerprint unlock

Your Huawei smartphone has a fingerprint sensor that you can set up to unlock the device, authorize purchases, or sign in to us. It doesn't matter what fingerprint you add. If an unlocking method has previously been defined by entering a pattern, PIN or password, you need the respective unlocking method before setting up.

Note: To activate fingerprint ID usage, a PIN / password request is saved beforehand

Android 10 (EMUI 10.0)
Step 1:  Open the  settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Biometric & password
Step 3:  Tap on  Fingerprint ID
Step 4:  Tap on  Fingerprint management
Step 5:  Type in your  PIN
Step 6:  Activate  Unlock device
Step 7:  Follow the  instructions  on the  display

  4. Tap on Fingerprint management
  5. Type in your PIN
  6. Activate Unlock device
  7. Follow the instructions on the display

Set up face scan

The Huawei smartphone can store facial data that, thanks to the front camera, can be used to unlock the device. Locked apps can also be opened with face recognition.

Android 10 (EMUI 10.0)
Step 1:  Open the  settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Biometric & password
Step 3:  Tap on  Face on Recognition
Step 4:  Type in your  PIN
Step 5:  Tap on  Get started  and follow the instructions on the display

  4. Type in your PIN
  5. Tap on Get started and follow the instructions on the display

Disable lock screen password

The lock screen password on the Huawei smartphone can be disabled at any time.
Please note that the device is no longer protected and our personal data is freely accessible. The fingerprint ID and app lock will
also be removed.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  Biometrics & password
Step 3:  Tap on  Disable lock screen password
Step 4:  Confirm with  Disable  and follow the instructions on screen
