Raise to Wake: Enable or Disable Screen Wake by Lifting auf Huawei
Raise to wake lets a Huawei phone turn its display on automatically as soon as the device is lifted or picked up. The function relies on the built-in motion sensor rather than the power button, so it reacts to movement instead of a physical press.
The setting lives inside the accessibility area of the system, not in the main display menu, which is why it often gets overlooked when a screen refuses to wake on lift or keeps waking unexpectedly in a pocket or bag.
To change it, go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Accesibility features ➔ Tap on Motion control ➔ Tap on Raise ➔ Enable or disable Wake device.
Turning the toggle off stops the screen from lighting up on movement, useful if the phone wakes too easily while carried around. Turning it on restores the automatic wake when the device is picked up or raised toward you.
A separate screen lock, such as a PIN or password, still applies after the display wakes. Raise to wake only controls whether the screen turns on, not whether the phone unlocks.
If the screen keeps waking on its own even with a case attached, a slightly less sensitive motion sensor or a case pressing on the phone can be the cause, and disabling raise to wake avoids the issue entirely.
