Enable Google Assistant with the Power Button auf Huawei
On Huawei phones running EMUI, the shortcut that starts Google Assistant from the power button is not turned on by default. The toggle lives inside the accessibility tools, which is why most people never find it.
To enable it, go to Open the settings ➔ Tap on Accessibility features ➔ Tap on Motion control ➔ Tap on Google Assistant ➔ Activate or deactivate Wake with Power button. Once active, a one-second press on the power key opens Google Assistant instantly, without swiping up or waiting for the wake word to register.
This shortcut helps when your hands are busy or when voice activation fails because of background noise. Turning the toggle off again restores the normal power button behavior, so the button only locks or wakes the screen.
If Google Assistant still does not open after enabling the toggle, check that the assistant is set as your default voice assistant in the system settings. A missing default assignment blocks the power button shortcut even when the accessibility setting shows it as active.
