Huawei: Add Members to a Contact Group

If you set up a group in Contacts but left someone out, you don't need to delete and recreate it on your Huawei phone. The group editor supports multi-select, so you can drop several people into an existing group in one pass.

Add Members to a Contact Group auf Huawei

Contact groups on a Huawei phone are managed inside the Contacts app, not through a separate address book. New members are not locked in once a group is created; you can extend the list at any time without rebuilding it.

To add people, open Open the Contacts appTap on GroupsChoose a group. Inside the group, tap Tap on Add members, then Select the contacts to add. The list supports multi-select, so you can tap several names before confirming with Tap on Add.

This is faster than editing each contact individually and searching for the group name under their profile. It also avoids duplicate entries, since contacts already in the group are grayed out or hidden from the selection list.

If a contact does not appear in the selection screen, check whether they were saved to a different account (for example a separate email account instead of the phone or cloud account) since group membership only applies within the same contact source.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. On the Select the contacts to add screen you can tap multiple names before confirming with Tap on Add, so you do not have to repeat the process for each person.
