Add a New Alternate Look for Face Recognition auf Huawei
Face Recognition on Huawei phones stores a single facial profile by default. If your appearance changes noticeably, for example new glasses, a beard, or a different hairstyle, the phone may struggle to match your face and fall back to a PIN or password.
An alternate look lets you register a second facial profile alongside the original one, so the system checks against both when unlocking. This works well for temporary or recurring changes, such as switching between glasses and contacts.
Where to find the option
Open the path Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Biometrics & password ➔ Tap on Face Recognition ➔ Tap on Set an alternate look ➔ Tap on Get started and follow the instructions on screen.
You will confirm your device password or PIN first, then position your face in the frame while the camera scans it, similar to the initial Face Recognition setup.
Once an alternate look is registered, the option to add another one disappears. The system supports only one original look plus one alternate look at a time, so remove the existing alternate look first if you need to register a different one.
If Face Unlock still fails after adding the alternate look, check lighting conditions and make sure the front camera is clean, since both factors affect recognition accuracy independently of stored looks.
