Block Pop-ups in the Browser App auf Huawei
When a site tries to open a second tab automatically, for example a payment window or a file picker, the Huawei Browser app can silently stop it. This happens because the Block pop-ups feature filters any window that opens without you tapping a link first.
The setting sits inside the browser itself, not in the phone's system settings, since it only affects browsing behavior. To change it, open Open the Browser app ➤ Open the menu ➤ Open the Settings ➤ Tap on Browsing settings ➤ Enable or disable Block pop-ups.
Turning the toggle off lets every pop-up through, including ones you actually need, such as verification windows for online banking or downloads triggered by a button. Turning it back on restores the filter and blocks unwanted ads and redirect windows.
If a single site keeps failing even with pop-ups disabled, the issue is often a stricter content or ad blocker running elsewhere, not this browser setting. Check any installed ad-blocking extensions or a system-wide privacy protection feature before assuming the Browser app is at fault.
