Huawei: Switch Between Open Browser Tabs

Comparing prices, articles, or search results across several open tabs in the Huawei browser gets messy once you lose track of which page is where. Closing and reopening pages wastes time, and the tab overview that solves this is easy to miss if you have never used it before.

Switch Between Browser Tabs auf Huawei

Every open page in the Huawei Browser app stays alive as its own tab, but only one tab shows on screen at a time. That is why new pages you open from search results or links can bury the tab you actually wanted to go back to.

The tab overview solves this without closing anything. It shows every open page as a small preview card, so you can scan them and jump straight to the one you need, for example to compare two product pages or check a source while reading another article.

How to open the tab overview

Go to Open the Browser appTap on TabsSwipe to browse the tabsTap on the desired tab. The tab icon usually shows a number, which tells you how many tabs are currently open.

Swiping through the preview cards does not reload or close any page in the background. Only tapping a card actually brings that tab to the front.

If a tab you expect to see is missing, the browser may have closed it automatically to free up memory, especially after long periods of inactivity or heavy multitasking. In that case, you need to reopen the page from your history instead of the tab overview.

Frequently asked questions

The Huawei Browser app can close inactive tabs in the background to save memory, especially if the phone was running many apps at once. Check your browsing history and reopen the page from there.
